This is something I have been meaning to do by myself for many years but never got around to it. I shared my thoughts on the subject a couple of years ago on these forums, and it seems fitting that I post them here again.

We would definitely need to replace all audio. Write a new script (limited to the visuals we have from the show, so no TMNT vs Shredder for example)

I can help with video editing and sound effects. Also I went through the whole season (fast forwarding) a few years ago so I have an idea of what type of scenes the show has and what it doesn't. We could also get creative and add scenes from other similar-looking (read: cheap) TV shows from the time, for establishing shots and maybe human characters, etc.

One thing to get into consideration is that the script cannot be too serious or dark. Even if we replace all the audio, the turtles' actors always make these exaggerated hand and body gestures that don't lend themselves to a serious show. So we would still need some degree of cheese.

Lastly but not least important is that not all costumers are the same. Donatello seems to have the best facial expressions, while Mike is definitely the worst. So the less speaking parts for Mike there are, the better.

Splinter is even worse so it would be best to pretend he had died already by that point.
I have done some editing experiments over the years. The most recent one is the fight scene from East Meets West part 1. I replaced all the audio, adding new music and sound effects. I also removed some bits of physical comedy and the like, added some filters, etc.

Hope this helps somewhat in managing expectations and maybe giving you ideas.
Good luck, Andrew and Co. I am very curious to see the end result of this ambitious project.

oh great, I was actually looking for this thread.

Still need voices Andrew? If auditions are still open I'd like to submit some stuff for Leonardo.

Cheers

I came across this today. This might help Andrew:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6TS19X0bmqw

According to Michelle's scripts what was written on the page wasn't represented very well on screen. It might be worth contacting her if you want to do a proper re-edit.

I don't think that would be of any help... this wouldn't even have the same story or dialogue. Intentionally.

How did I miss this the first go'round?
I've experience with both audio editing and Foley.
BUT!
No experience integrating audio into video.

My recommendations for folks recording audio:

Audacity.
It's free, pretty user friendly, for a given level of user friendly.

Record in as small, and quiet a place as possible.
Have room for you and a laptop in a closet? Go there.
The less ambient noise the better.

Give at least ten minutes of silence at the beginning of your recording, this'll help to allow for noise cancelling afterwards.

From what Michelle says stuff was just cut out of the script. If you can get hold of the scripts it might help with the editing. Just a thought.

Well let me put it this way since you have troubling understanding: either Andrew can do his own thing and it will be his interpretation or he can get hold of scripts which will tell him what silliness was added in post-production so he can stay true to the script. Kind of obvious really mate.

He's made it painfully obvious he's not interested in the original script & plans to "do his own thing". There are better ways to use your Thursday internet privileges than attemtping to patronize your superiors.

Dude seriously I'm not patronizing anyone. Just chill, I'm just trying to help. What the hell was got into you? Superiors? No need to snap at me.

Not sure how I missed this, but I would love to help! I have done voice work for local radio/tv commercials, and while I would love to try any character, I can do a pretty legit Corey Feldman Donatello.

I don't know, they both kind of sound... Well, here's both for comparison at least.

Not sure why they did it though, is this a copyright issue?

Almost undoubtedly. Some contract that didn't give full license to the song in perpetuity OR maybe it did, but to Fox specifically and not "the brand." But I bet you no one so much as bothered to pick up the phone or send an E-mail to see if that band was willing to sign a new agreement.
