I enjoyed the New Dracula on Netflix, and to be honest, while it didn’t really matter, and wasn’t that big a deal, they chose, of all the cast, to switch out Lucy, the red head. WTF is the deal with Hollywood and its hate for gingers? Ariel, April, Jimmy Olsen, Gordon, Wally West, its not just that they’re adding black actors, they are specifically targeting red haired characters to be removed. Is it anti Irish? Anti Scottish? Whats the deal |

As a look, Gingers are pretty high on the sexy scale, right after blondes. Brunettes, making up the majority of the planet,in numbers alone, will hold the most unattractive people. |

I actually started it today. It's a coincidence that I had to get away from it when I got to this point, but I got as far as the nuns or whatever questioning Jonathan Harker and them asking him, "So did Dracula have sexual intercourse with you?" and him getting super awkward.

Just saying. And there's exceptions.

I am a big OT fan, but the success of it has always been a double-edged sword on the TMNT franchise as a whole. On one hand the phenomenal commercial success of the cartoon has always been an incentive for production companies to pursue anything TMNT related afterward, but on the other, that same success had cemented itself in the public's minds that it is difficult to see it beyond children's entertainment. If the commercial success was more distributed throughout the franchise, as with other other superhero franchises, I believe the public would have a greater acceptance for more grown-up tones of TMNT.
The most notable exception is if people have been exposed to the original Mirage comic or 2K3 cartoon where they can appreciate it at its darker and more sobering tones, though the OT's success and mass public exposure is, and has been, an overcasting shadow obscuring them. For me, it's been a pretty downhill experience after the first couple of seasons from the Nick cartoon as it seemed to lean more and more on the OT elements. And those Bayfilms, only sank the franchise further into children-themed entertainment. After that, I just haven't been interested in TMNT to really bother pay attention to it. |

I don't feel disillusioned. It's a part of my childhood, and like most other parts of our childhood, it will be consistently reinvented for someone else's. Sometimes the reinvention is something everyone really enjoys. Other times it's less palatable.
I have the same issue with Power Rangers, Batman, and Ghostbusters. They'll keep milking it for cash. Sometimes, I really like what they make (Spectacular Spider-Man) and other times I'm not into it at all (Ultimate Spider-Man). For me the franchise just lays dormant for awhile.

It depends on the brunette: some of us have a sexy red tint to our hair, especially if we have some Irish or Spanish folks mingling within our family trees.

In my experience, if you don't smoke cigarettes, don't take pills, don't stick sh*t up your nose or in your arm, and only drink on holidays and weekends, you don't actually accumulate too many miles on your face. I'm sure some people are simply... how shall we say... "genetically unfortunate", though.

It must have been a long day. You're right though: crack, heroin, chronic alcoholism, and putting crayons up into your head, doesn't help you to be your best appearance-wise, performance-wise, ect. |

I'm sure some people can rock the ol' "Abdullah the Butcher" forehead and still catch plenty of trim, but I personally don't know any.
My favorite Abdullah story is how he used to freak people out in casinos by sticking chips into his forehead scars. Classy! Also, I know what you meant but nobody gigs before a match, it's done quickly and surreptitiously in the seconds just before or just after a hard shot to the head. Although it's mostly been phased out since Hepatitis is a thing.

I think in actuality, he closed the thread because I excluded Rise. Seems to be the part that offends. I only exclueded Rise because that April is like 12, so I didn't think it applied. |

Yeah, I doubt 'Rise' April was the problem there.
And she's old enough to work, so definitively not 12. Seems more-so somewhere between 15 and 17. |

Abdullah the Butcher was the dude that ran around with a fork, right? I'm pretty sure I saw him at a legends event in Memphis around 2007 with Hogan and Brutus The MFn Barber Beefcake. I left my Thunder in Paradise poster at home or I would've had Hogan scribble his name on it. |

Yep, that's Abby.
Sometimes accidents will happen, like if a guy did a recent blade job it might open up "hardway" via incidental contact. I remember a story Mick Foley once told where he got busted open during the first five seconds of a match; he'd gigged himself a day or two before, and it hadn't fully healed, and so when he went to lock up to start the match the guy's hand very gently grazed Mick's forehead and tapped a fresh gusher. There's also a vey old-school trick where you can "get color" on a guy by striking downward across his eyebrow with the point of your knuckle, but it's mostly been phased out because it's pretty hard to do properly. It either works right the first time or else it doesn't and you just give a guy a concussion. Harley Race was the master of it, but he's dead now, so I don't think anyone nowadays is privy to it. "The More You Know..."
