I added a really cool, rare piece to my collection today. Now I have 3 different original mail-away iron-ons, the first non-comic TMNT item ever released
It's very hard to find these unused (or even used). I suspect most were thrown away or used and discarded. I just love this very early Eastman and Laird artwork! Last edited by MrPliggins; 05-07-2020 at 11:16 AM. |

A new Ebay win.
Rocksteady cel from "Shredder and Splintered". I found this while randomly searching the misspelled "TNMT" and figured why not add it to my collection of 3 other "Shredder and Splintered" cels? Reproduction background as always.. edit: Sold Last edited by MrPliggins; 05-09-2020 at 01:54 PM. |

Thanks guys.
I know I'm super, super late to the game on the Playmates statues (by like 10 years), but they're so cool I had to pick them up. I received them in the mail today (Raph and Mike), and Leo will be here tomorrow. Unfortunately, Don is not included, as I'm too cheap to shell out the $. Hopefully I'll just be content with the 3. I have the other two 847 "brown spot" pins lol
Even though they are water damaged, it sucks that they are separated and not together as a set. Last edited by spp; 06-11-2014 at 01:58 AM. |

Very cool! I assumed the other 2 were lost to time. You're right, they do deserve to be together. PM me your address and I'll send them to you. I wonder how they were separated in the first place?

Very nice Pliggins. I hope seeing mine in person helped with your decision because they're one of the most phenomenal turtle pieces ever produced. It's still hard for me to believe playmates produced them.
If you do anything with the background if keep it simple. Let the statues speak for themselves

Thanks TMT. I think when I saw yours it kind of put the idea in my head subliminally. Seeing them in pics is one thing but in person they are just amazing statues! I had to pick these up for the decent deal they were being offered at.
I tried sticking the iron-ons behind them, but it made the display too busy. I think it's fine just how it is. It might be cool to put "wallpaper" of the original mirage pages, but screened back so as to not draw attention from the main focus. Since most of my collection is filed away (comics, OA), it's nice to have something really cool to display. |
