loved tonight's supergirl. The anti-Trump stuff was awesome. Also Sanvers was barley on the show.

I respect what FW cartoon did for the turtles franchise but it is the most overrated and hard to watch of the 3 turtles cartoons. |

When Tonights Supergirl Finale was better than the DCEU.
Superman being a happy blue boy scout and not some whiny emo Martha man Superman and Martian Manhunter fighting side by side M'gann and white martians etc kinda sucky they wasted zod on a hallucination

I didn't mind the Sanvers stuff, though it was noticeable how often the show would pause to give them a moment to breathe. Whenever they would see each other there'd be this big dramatic kiss or glare, often with another character leaving the room to give them some time to have a moment. But I didn't mind it. I actually found Alex this season more interesting than anything she did last season.
Mon-El leaving was kind of a bummer. Once the writers got passed him making the intentionally awkward and uneducated pop-culture references, he became a real character with great chemistry with the bulk of the cast. Hopefully he's not gone for too long. Superman vs Supergirl was, sadly, inevitable in these kinds of things. Even growing up I'd never really been interested in the whole "Who would win in a fight?" thing that so many people seem to have a fascination with so getting it out of the way now saves the pain of going through the motions later. But that being said... c'mon. I really don't care who would really win in a fight but boy did they beat us over the head that Supergirl is better. They even went out of their way to say silver Kryptonite in no way diminished Clark's powers and that she beat him at full strength... while he was thinking he was fighting Zod. That kind of kills the excitement of bringing in Superman to the show as an attraction when he's been established as a second rate Supergirl. All in all, Season 2 started out stronger than Season 1 (Jimmy/Guardian nonsense aside) but kind of stuttered towards the finish line and left a ton of things unresolved. Cadmus? Jeremiah? Olson? Lena? Henshaw? I know they're leaving a lot of things open for next season but these all were introduced as season arcs, so the fact all these things weren't even addressed in the finale makes for a some seriously weak sauce. |

Kind of funny the tv show adapts New Fifty-Two when the Rebirth era of Supergirl tries to escape that period by adapting elements of this show

They should grab some 70s Supergirl comics and use her own villains...and supporting characters.
I'd have less issues with Supergirl if it was more original and less male bashing... if it wasn't for male Superman having been around there would be no Supergirl... Jimmy needs to go, Cat needs to stay gone... And Kara really should have gotten her Linda Lee Danvers name.... |

I just started watching Supergirl and it kind of sucks...I hope it gets better. I like Supergirl and Jimmy Olsen a lot, even if I don't like changing Jimmy Olsen to black, poor red headed comic book characters keep getting changed to black, now gingers have no representation but whatever that actor is awesome. I like that it's a bright show for the most part and Supergirl uses her powers a lot more than say Clark in Smallville did so television superheroes have changed a lot. With Supergirl, Wonder Woman and Harley I guess DC is dominating girl power with their heroes, Black Widow nor Captain Marvel
have a chance. The episodes are just so damn boring though, I don't want super dramatic stories like the Arrow/Flash but something. The season arc of Kara's relative is not compelling either. So yeah I hope it gets better. And what's up with the huge cast of characters, does Supergirl really need to have the DC version of SHIELD be her headquarters? I think this is also true for the other CW shows, Arrow and Flash now have a huge cast of characters running around in every episode. I also started watching Flashs2 and Arrows4 but they kind of suck too at least in the beginning, I also think that switching between the three shows isn't helping any of them since they're all so different and it's weird going from happy supergirl to grimdark Arrow, so I may just say f-ck it to crossovers and only watch one of these shows straight before moving on. |
