I had that exact thought when we got the first image of the mysterious new opponent realizing it was not a new opponent at all. I tried to convience myself he was a savante mutant but alas the omen of Yurikawa came to pass.
Decent issue nonetheless. It was a let down that it was not a new opponent but that is coming up soon anyway. It was definitely a filler issue but it was nice to see Kevin's art in an issue beyond the cover and in color not to mention the four different mask color. A rarity indeed! So it was a a filler but a treat at the same time while Shredder locating his wife's body carries the plot.

Oddly noticed the two Kevin Eastman issues, the Annual and this one are not as interesting story-wise as the Tom Waltz issues.
Eastman has always been a better artist than storyteller though. |

Tmnt #21
Total shades of the Nick online intro 'toon. Nicely done (It's Eastman, so how can you go wrong?) but easy to work out. Still, the way the Turtles were totally schooled? Not so easy to understand...

There is already a thread discussing this issue, & if you're going to spoil the ending at least have the courtesy to wrap it in spoiler tags...

The post you linked to says 'preview'. This is about the actual issue. If you haven't read it, then don't click on it. And what spoiler did I bust?

All of the threads are the same way. They start with a preview and issue discussion follows. Try reading the thread. & the very first line of your thread reveals the ending.

Aw, the video was removed, but if it's Kevin Smith related, I've probably already seen it, love the man
And I know, I didn't mean to come across as a perv...I just like me some romantic entanglements! Maybe it's all the Manga I've been reading...

Hrmmm. I got almost no enjoyment out of this one. No interesting character moments, nothing remarkable in the action department, the Kitsune thing was spoiled already by solicits. Kevin on art was neat, I guess.
Perhaps I was expecting too much considering it was a #21? This weeks episode of Nick TMNT also came up short lol. What really disappoints me though is that prior to this issue, I felt that Tom was at his strongest when writing shorter arcs (#5, Blood Brothers, etc.). Instead the IDW crew ends up taking a tired plot device that even the Fred Wolf cartoon managed to do more with. Oh well, City Fall seems cool. |

Just look at it this way, we got a full issue of Eastman art in color.
I'm sure City Fall will be excellent. Tom Waltz hasn't let me down yet with his main story arcs. |

One thing I'll say, the disguise Splinter wore would make a good action figure.

I really think it would be nice to put some sort of Poll on every Discussion thread for the Issues from now on. Something like rating the Issue on a scale of 1 to 10 would be appropiate! Just a quick suggestion but anyways, this was another Great Issue IMO and I can't wait for City Fall.

Internet kills storylines
I really enjoyed this issue! It Kevin Eastman in color!!! I loved this story and I think this issue will stand out in time. I thought the annual was great but this was in color!
Of course we all knew it was Splinter! That's not the point, the point was him schooling the Turtles! As a martial artist I would critic when/where/how did an feudal Japanese Ninja master learn Savate, Parkour, or Filipino stick fighting? (Of course Master Splinter would have access to youtube! |
