I'm still waiting for that Rat King you showed ages ago, and I do know that you have red Shredder as WIP. But more foot soldiers sound good too, can't wait for them.

(Also, that Smurf is cool!)

Can't do Rat King without RATS! So that one might be on hold for a while.

Buuuuuut I think I've got a cool recipe for an Armaggon, and I'm really excited about it, so that might happen soonish!

Sweet, very looking forward to it. Love me some Future Shark.

That's cool. If it's a really good recipe, I'm going to borrow it for a v2.

Sounds good! It's not really that unusual, though -- we pretty much said it in full in the other thread -- just a Street Shark with arms and legs from other figures. I'm not even sure the arms part will pan out properly (I ordered them tonight; I'll know better once I have them in hand), and the proportions could end up being kinda odd... which doesn't so much bother me, but yeah. He's also going to end up being HUGE. It's in keeping with some of the comic/cover depictions, but certainly not with Tournament Fighters! Ah well.

Basically, I got ahold of this guy and I'm really interested in trying something with him.

We'll see how it goes!

Yep, my own was based on regular version of same character, hope you'll get good results! And if you open the figure, please post WIPs. I'm interested what's inside those sharks...

Yes, I remember!

As far as what's inside them... I don't know about the others, but I'm pretty sure there's NOTHING inside Slugger Slammu. Actually, that's part of what appeals to me about using him, since I don't have to worry about fighting with any internal mechanisms -- he doesn't have the jaw-opening action. He's also made of some pretty tough plastic, probably because they weren't worried about making his jaw open. Feels kinda like a vinyl piggy bank.

I can't wait to see this... I've been thinking about ways to make Armaggon better since I've made mine, and this sounds like a pretty good one. I'll be watching your thread sir!

I haven't done any actual modding yet, but here's the basic idea... Slammu for the body, Mojo arms (I kinda like that they're skinny and long-ish and have four fingers on each hand), and DCUC BAF legs -- partly because making the figure bottom-heavy will help to keep it balanced, partly because I want to use those things for *something*, and partly because their thickness is in line with the thicker stumpy legs Armaggon has in the Archie comics. Not sure if I'd try to give him webbed flipper feet or sculpt over the feet to make them like those blobby things (but I'm leaning towards the latter).

And the missile launcher is just an idea -- I could sculpt them, but I kinda want to use actual firing missiles for the pods because hey, FUN! Ideally I'd find something smaller (maybe a pair of Transformer guns or something), but we'll see.

thought about some old GI joe weapons? they all had spring loaded weapons, even some of the recent Hasbro star wars figures came with spring loaded weapons. Rocket lauchers, guns etc

Missile launchers are good idea, but I think they should be sculpted into the body. Arms look good, but they seem awfully small compared to the legs in that pic, maybe when you've actually done something they look better. Did you plan to just sculpt the tail, or use some part for it?

I wish I'd thought of Mojo arms! It works out better because he had sort of a lean quality to his arms.

Thanks for the suggestion -- I'll look into that! The only Joe weapons I have are from recent figs, which are way too huge to work with my plan here, but maybe some of the older ones would work.

Yeah -- if I go with the missile launchers, I'm planning to use sculpt to blend them into the body (so they'd ideally be smaller than the Iron Man launcher I stuck in this pic by way of example). And yeah, we'll see how the legs work! Armaggon's not the most proportionate dude, so I don't mind the legs being much thicker than the arms, and presumably the feet will look less like feet (and hence the legs will seem a bit less long) once they're modified to be the blobby things (if I go that route). But I can always cut out some height, too. I dunno -- I'd just kinda like to find some use for them, since these BAF parts don't do me any good sitting around.

And re: the tail, probably just planning to use a toy shark or something. The front fins could go to the forearms; the latter half could go to the tail. And I could save the head in case I ever felt like doing another Armaggon closer to his Tournament Fighters scale (or some other shark-headed dude).

Not at all, Wes!

Only the most hardcore TMNT fans would pay homage to characters from Manhattan Missions and the RPG books!

Gotta love the It!

Also... NES style Foot & Mousers? Amazing!

I see, OMW! I thought you were teasing me for doing multiple Shredders.

And thanks, TMNT_Canadian! I look forward to seeing them finished, too. Need to acquire more armor for this second 2K3 Shredder (unless I decide to use more Super Shredder armor, which I'm kinda considering), and I'll probably paint the torso silver or grey to vary things a bit.
