After checking out all available pictures, I dig the "Tron-esque" motorcycles and the new sewer playset. The turtle tank is even pretty awesome.

As for the figures themselves, I know better not to expect them to look exactly like these since Playmates is known to severely disappoint. However, I am psyched for all the main characters (April looks great!) in addition to a Giant Leonardo. I'll be a sucker to any and all Leonardo toys...I'm just dreading him being an egotistical jerk in the new series.

I honestly like them. Raph could be bigger, but It's nice to see a first assortment of TMNT figures that are actually quite accurate to the show designs without any weird differences. I'm probably gonna take a step back from collecting the toys a bit after I put so much effort into collecting characters in the Nick line that only appeared once, but I'll at least grab the four Turtles and maybe April and Splinter. (Plus Slash, Leatherhead, and Armaggon if they're ever in the show.)

The turtles look terrible, but that pig is pretty cool.

No worries though, there are plenty of other great tmnt toys these days.

Colors are vibrant which is nice but I doubt this will translate to actual mass production

Is Meat Sweats a mutant pig or grosser a mutant ham? the weird bone like detail and veins make me think that might be the case.

Looks like a mutated butcher.

The following is from the article in first post.

Assortment includes: Raphael “The Leader,” Leonardo “The Trickster,” Donatello “The Tech Wiz,” Michelangelo “The Wild Card,” Splinter “The Chill Master,” April “Street Smart Best Friend,” Origami Ninja “Confetti Commandos,” Meat Sweats “The Tenderizer,” Baron Draxum “The Maker of Mutants”

So Leo is described as “the trickster.” Hmm

I dig them. A lot, tbh. Very colorful and fun looking line. I love the new lair playset. I honestly think it's cooler than the 2012 one. Splinter looks much better here and I think the new villains are pretty cool. At least it's something new and different there.

Whether I buy anything will still depend on how I feel about the show itself, but I'm feeling even more optimistic after seeing the toys. I think the show is going to be wackier and sillier than the 2012 series overall, but the sense of fun is already definitely there and I'm good with that vibe going in. Now we wait for some animation footage to get another read on things.

My thoughts exactly. Regardless of the show, I love the basic figures and DAT PLAYSET THO! Also that tank is pretty sweet. I'm in for all the above. I don't normally deviate from basics, though I do go for vehicle+figure packs.

That's true. Maybe a lot of the weapons will end up painted grey.

But even NECA does that. Saw a NECA Dutch from the Predator line in a local comic shop and compared the image on the packaging to the actual figure. Huge difference!

Someone at Playmates designed that playset just for us long time toy collecting fans. It's generic enough to work for any universe, and it really looks like a perfect display stand/centerpiece for any line. The throwback to the '87 turtle van in the arcade game and whatever other little touches we haven't discovered yet are more icing on that cake. No way am I gonna sit out on that thing. Even though I'm low on room, it's clearly so much more practical than the 2012 playset for a display that I might just have to sell that one to make room.

As for the "happy meal" toy quality, I think what y'all are really saying by that is they look toyetic....probably mainly because of all the bright colors but also the sharp cartoonish stylized angles. That's why the part of me that just plain loves toys is taking to them right away, actually. Articulation-wise we will see, but they look like they have the joints to at least fare no worse than previous lines.

I think they all look really cool, and much better than the character art reveal. Splinter definitely looks much improved in the toy over the art.

I think that is whoever is in charge of the origami warriors since he looks similar. also I think that pic was labeled incorrectly as foot soldier. since he has origami crane throwing stars I'm assuming that's the origami warrior. maybe a replacement for foot soldiers, although I'm hoping shredder and the foot are in this. We will know more this weekend. hopefully PixelDan can get some inside info for us.
