That happens a lot with these thick box sets. The CD clips are unforgiving and they tend to grip a disc so hard that you feel you'll break it getting it out, or they just become flimsy and BOOM - loose disc.

I had to repurchase my Hey Arnold complete collection because almost every disc was starting to get cracks in the middle. I learned my lesson. I am being very careful removing each disc with this 2003 Ninja Turtle collection because it was so darn expensive.

Well folks, just watched a few reviews about the quality of the set.
Definitely some blurry weird deinterlaced scenes where the turtles or whoever the characters are look kinda blobby. Anyone try watching these on a crt? And for thsoe that have the option, here is what I do when watching SD content on a 4k tv..... i set the output on my blu ray player to 1080i, seems to be less jerky in terms of panning moments, and less jagged lines because 1080i... can't guarantee it will be that much better, but it seems to work for me. I wonder if its because this is a 20 year old show... and also bad encoding. |

I store them all on a book shelf. I have a huge collection of shows on dvd. Most of them are cartoons like The Simpsons and Southpark.

Many of the reviews on Amazon are saying there are scenes that look blurry and that there is an encoding issue with the episodes that cause “ghosting”, where frames do not move smoothly and it can look like a character in motion is actually looks like two or three of any particular character are in the frame instead of one. I don’t know, I haven’t seen them myself but I am just going by what I am reading.

I paid $52 on amazon and I think it's worth it at that price. You get all 155 eps in proper order, and that's good enough for me.
Shame Turtles Forever is not still uncut but I have the UK DVD of it so it doesn't matter too much to me. And all the other stuff like the T-Files shorts, Monster island, Peach Nova shorts, etc. are all on youtube anyway. |

I finally ordered my copy! On Deep Discount, they have this set for $53.93 plus Free Shipping and (for a limited time) you can save an additional 15% off with code HOT15! So it comes to $45.84 (plus tax).
https://www.deepdiscount.com/teenage...n/810134941243 Also if you join Rakuten and use the Deep Discount link through them, you earn an additional 3% cash back on the purchase, so not a bad deal. www.rakuten.com/r/TOOLDB?eeid=28187 |

I can't buy it since the DVD doesn't ship to Ireland on the Amazon website. Hopefully, it will be made available in the UK soon. At least they're all streaming now. I had just bought the complete 1987 series before seeing an announcement that they will all be on streaming as well. The DVD just arrived today.

Anyone with the DVD- does anyone’s Disc 5 go straight to the end of Space Invaders Part 1 instead of the actual menu screen? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/166286522...Bk9SR-DmuufEYg

It all feels a bit slapdash, with the aspect ratio stuck the way it is, bare bones packaging and presentation, and the odd Nickelodeon bumper before each episode. This show came out in my 20s (oh, Lord) and made me look forward to Saturday mornings again like I was a child. Then waiting another 20 years for a complete collection to be just cobbled together is sad. But at least the episodes are all here and in order.

Frankly people here could put together a more definitive presentation and it wouldn't even be that difficult. It's never going to happen officially.

The old 4kids DVDs had interactive menus with moving animation, background music, even besides all the extras.
But then again they were selling like 3-4 episodes a disc for $20, so they had to make them look good. The early 2000's were crazy when they could get away with selling 4 episodes per disc and make you pay $20 for it. |
