Probably and Ethel won't be stalking him in the tv series so that's good.

I misinterpreted that. Sorry.

I'm sorry, but this is just an incomprehensibly awful idea, even by gritty reboot standards. Archie Comics should be the absolute last brand that deserves this sort of treatment.

This has to be a joke. An elaborate, extremely expensive joke. You couldn’t make a better parody of goofy, inappropriate adaptations than that trailer.

Whoa!! Molly Ringwald has been cast as Archie's mom, Mary Andrews! Seems Mary left town several years ago to "follow her dreams" and returns to help her family thru a trying time. Wonder if Archie has abandonment issues?

Fred has always been hard on Archie in the comics and Mary not so much from what I recall so I'll bet there will be a lot of tension.

Some are taking issue with the show not acknowledging Jughead being an Asexual.

Ok I saw this out of curiosity and thought it was pretty good.

The problem for me is I've never really read the comics. I feel I like probably missed out on a bunch of nods to the books. I only recognized the cheerleader outfights.

Are the comics more serious than they seem? I know the show is meant to be more so but generally are the comics more adult?

I watched it... pretty weird take for the characters, but... murder mystery!

I don't think I'll be committing to this show, but weirdly enough, I can actually see this getting renewed in the spring, and lasting at least two seasons.

I've only read the reboot series by Mark Waid, and compared to this show they aren't as serious.

Okay, I'll just say it... Archie fornicating with one of his teachers is messed up.

Archie and his teacher being possible witnesses to a murder and then agreeing to remain forever silent in order to protect their own tenuous reputations in the community is even more messed up. I hope the in-universe police come after them both with the full force of the fictional law.

Well...I'm less than 20 minutes in and already thinking I'm done. Very cliché...especially the character that shares my name. Kevin Keller - Gay Best Friend.

That was definitely the most messed up part I had when watching this.

Yeah...that's...wha? Seriously? Why?

I wonder if it's even worth wading through the standard CW teen drama garbage for the mystery plot line...

Say what you all will about Andre, but his take on this is awesome.

I'll try to watch this, but I have a feeling that Betty is going to put me off later with her good girl persona, which seems like it's going to cause her to get antagonized into oblivion. Particularly by Cheryl. Then her character will end up getting too tragic for me.
