Excellent point. It’s punk rock, not Mozart.

True, but I fail to see what is “punk rock” about about adding cartoonish sound effects to the apartment fight scene in post production after the director was removed in order to make it more “family friendly.”

Personally, I’d like to see a remastered special edition with the director’s input with the deleted footage restored and some of the more glaring effects shots fixed.

But I suspect that this might move a PG movie into PG-13 territory which is probably why the director was removed in the first place.

Did we learn nothing from George Lucas in the 90s?

On a somewhat related note-- workprint edits are getting popular to put on big releases. The Ghostbusters VHS workprint is phenomenal. We know VHS copies of Baron/Menke's workprint of TMNT exists and who has them. Hopefully we get to see that workprint and soon. That would as close to Baron's original vision as possible.

Film grain is fine but when an original was super grainy it can become unbearable in HD, let alone UHD.
