What's the quick take on Series 11 and Madame Doctor? Seems problematic for her run to be so short if this rumor is true. Also, what's the over/under on a second female Doctor come the next regeneration?

Think about it as Supergirl with a Tardis BBC America is marathoning all the new who doctors. They are on Matt Smith at this point. Glad they are doing this they are reminding fans how much better Doctor Who was before Chibnal ruined it with Series 11

Thanks for the warning! That Rosa Parks episode sounds intriguing, though...

Rosa was good. Most fans agree it was the best one. I can't say for Episodes 4-13 + New Years Episode as I stopped watching

The episodes "Kerblam!", "Demons of the Punjab" and "The Witch Hunters" are decent, everything else is unremarkable (and there's one twist with the overpraised episode nine that has to be seen to be believed...it really does sum up how preposterous this show can get in a bad way)
I only watch it for The Doctor and Graham. For some reason, I 'ship them and write a lot of fics about 'em, it has a lot to do with the fact he has the best arc this season...if not the only one. |

Chris Chibnal defends Doctor Who's Focus on Social Issues
says its fundamental https://www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2...s-fundamental/ Also it seems the new years special is terrible looks like Chibs scrapped unit and redesigned the daleks so basically Doctor Who right now

I skipped ahead quite a bit to watch the Dalek episode...and might I just say
Because before Utroms for me, it was Daleks. It was basically like one of the books "I Am A Dalek", sharing a lot of plot beats like an ancient Dalek taking over the body of a young woman in order to rebuild itself. In a similar way to the season 1 "Dalek" episode sharing similar beats with the Big Finish audio play "Jubilee". (I liked "Jubilee" better than "Dalek"...and this better than "I Am A Dalek". Tough choice between "Jubilee" and "Prisoner of the Daleks") I basically spent the entire episode in a state of "Yeah boi" and "leave I've been enjoying what I've seen so far though. At some point in Doctor Who, I'd like at least some kind of mainstay Dalek enemy, like what the Cult of Skaro could have been, or even what Rusty could have been. Something to at least fill the shoes of the Master for a little bit. But y'know...when you get a really, really good Dalek, you can't let them stick around too long? Cult of Skaro? Nah, gotta start stabbing each other in the back. Rusty? Disappear and show up randomly later. Dalek X? Be in one book, an absolute boss just barely passing the threshold of having a personality, gets anti-grav ripped out from underneath, and trapped in an exploding mine, just barely surviving and then being abandoned there. Come to think of it the one Dalek that does stick around as a recurring enemy is the Dalek Time Controller, but that's just in the radio plays and books. Even survives death by using its...clone...wife(??? Yeah, not even the weirdest part of that story) to live on. But I guess it's just too cool for the screen. And now, I just wait for a little figurine of the Recon Dalek to come out.

I haven’t watched DW since Capaldi left. New episodes look extremely boring.
Last I heard, people were begging RTD to come back, which is a pretty sad indicator of how things are going. |

Rumor on the Interwebz is BBC Fired Chibnall
Charlie Ling @iamtheprogidy 3m3 minutes ago LIKE MY ART AS WELL! @DoctorFreedom1 I cannot confirm this, so please take with a huge grain of salt: Chris Chibnall was fired Monday due to reception of Series 12 footage analysed by the BBC. Rumour is they were so unhappy they released him from his contract. *this is a rumour*

Which one of you guys is on the BBC board of directors and have seen the footage?
Heard a few additional things, that the writer of Kerblam (who also showruns Wentworth over in Australia) has taken over as temporary showrunner |

One of the all-time great Doctor Who writers Terrance Dicks, has died
https://www.radiotimes.com/news/tv/2...ce-dicks-dies/ This is devastating me. I grew up like everyone worth breathing reading his novelisations, of which there were so many, they were the backbone of this show in the days before home releases, and he made his mark on all of the iconic Doctors in small and large ways. He wasn't even above contributing to the modern range Almost all the giants of Classic Who no longer walk among us |

End of an era that began in 1968. Terrance Dicks' books taught me to read fluently, and I'm pretty sure when I write I unconsciously - and sometimes consciously - use a lot of techniques and even phrases picked up from him.
Never cruel or cowardly - Nice motto. |
