Hey Bobby,

I've just read Shredder in Hell # 2. I'm loving this series I'm so thrilled to finally being learning more about Shredder and his connection with the Dragon God. I've have two questions if you're able to answer them?

1. What was going on during the last page of issue 2? Was that still a vision Saki was having or was that really going on with Tatsuo?

2. Does Kitsune know that the Dragon God Spirit has been trapped in Tatsuo/ Saki's soul the whole time? I'm kinda confused about that. How did she turn Saki into the dragon warrior if he already was the vessel of the Dragon?

Thanks and looking forward to City at war!

So am I to take it that the green dragon with the three eyes, as seen in SiH #2, is how he really looks?

I don't want to spoil anything in a current story by giving my take on it. For now, your interpretation is as valid as mine!

It's how Mateus draws it, so according to his interpretation, yes! But, again: it's not Earth, and it's comics!

In Mirage, the Turtles were depicted as drinking alcohol. Are you allowed to depict them drinking or does that fall under some kind of rule against depiction of underage drinking?

In practical application, I'd have to inquire with Nickelodeon, but in theory yes! Back when we first got the license we were given a list of what's permissible and I remember drinking and light drug use (!!) was on it. But I suspect that list was what was able to appear in the pages of the comic, not necessarily what the Turtles themselves could do.

Oh boy, with the way things are going, booze is the last thing those poor boys need .

(They need naps and hot chocolate with all the fixings)

Turtles getting drunk? Imagine if they drank Alcohol by accident. and then experiencing being drunk.

To be honest, I could easily see Mikey and Mondo passing a bong back and forth.

Frankly I prefer the Turtles avoiding substances which would hinder their peak physical performance/training as ninjas.

I have a question in regards to the comic book insustry rather than just TMNT. Why is it that most comics still use all caps for the text? I know that there used to be problems with lower case getting smudged in print but as far as I can tell that's not an issue anymore, so why stick to all caps? Is it just tradition?

Tradition sounds like a good answer to me, but i'm honestly not too well versed on stuff like this. I'm sure there's an excellent answer, but I don't know what it is. Sorry!

It’s probably easier to read in general for adults and kids alike.

They're a lot of history of typography in there, but basically yeah, it's easier to read in all caps.

I'm sure if Shawn Lee had an account, he could explain it better.

Basically, all caps type first draws more attention for greater readability, but is also a holdover from the days of cheap paper printing, where lowercap would bleed more readily and make reading harder.
(Besides, in the limited space of a speech bubble, "normal" typography would just look weird)

Lapsed TMNT fan here.

So, Mirage Vol 1 had 6 ultimate hardcover collections that were oversized.

Will the Mirage Vol. 2 and Image Vol. 3 get a similar treatment?
Also, what will be the stories/issues featured in Vol. 7?

Thanks

Bobby has talked about this many times - reprints are not his department.

-I get lots of questions about IDW's reprint program. I have almost nothing to do with the reprints, and that department is the most overworked at IDW (just two guys handling EVERYTHING that IDW reprints, which is a lot), so I am very reluctant to take time out of my day and bother those guys. Feel free to ask questions regarding this, sometimes I know or hear things, but don't be upset if I don't have the answer and am unwilling to investigate further. That will probably be the case. It's not my area, and I want to respect the folks whose area it is!

I haven't heard anything to that effect, but maybe one day! I think volume 7 is mostly a covers book with some other odds and ends. Again, could be off base there.

The Asterix comics really played around with how text was used back in the day which made many fans disappointed with the remastered versions from 2004 that didn't properly replicate the styles.

People really should know better than to tamper with perfection.
