Its pretty normal by tmnt standards.

I could easily see Casey from any of the 3 cartoons saying that line, as well as Leonardo (after he has a great victory)

I'm just a little confused as to why it upsets you so much because there isn't a version of TMNT you like Papenbrook, so I read in another thread, is that still the case? Is it just that you are hoping you like this one, which is why it concerns you?

Also that Leo line above is something Nick Leo would say too, especially in the first two seasons. It's a perfectly in character line for Leonardo nowadays.

How can we even say if it's "perfectly in character" if we don't even know the context of that line?

In the right context, if he's just playing around or if it is simply sibling posturing, fine, no problem. (Or even just a brief moment of overconfidence in one episode.)

But with the limited character description we have, I just hope it doesn't turn out to be in line with his general tone in the series, as that would really suck. (To me. I'm sure some might like it, esp those who don't really give that much of a crap about the guy or want him to look bad.) I personally don't ever want a return of how the 2007 film tried to make him out to be kind of an ass. Really wish they'd hurry up and give us a bit better of a picture of this whole thing.

Leo said one or two things in the start of 2012 like 'we are the turtles of justice' or something like that (Raph kept pulling him on it) but that was when they very first started out, he was young and caught up in the excitement, he didn't do it after the early eps. (that I noticed much of)

I'm sure Nick will be promoting the new show soon enough, I'd rather they waited till after the final airing (even though we've seen it) of the 2012's. So that's only Sunday.

TMNT on twitter put up a short recording of Seth saying fairwell. Ben Schwartz replied telling him it is an honor to take the Katana from him, Seth replied in a tweet of his own telling Ben he has no doubt he'll lead well. I think Seth isn't aware of the leader shift.

Or maybe my predictions are right, Raph will start off as the leader but then after messing up a bunch of times and Leo showing bravery, Splinter will then decide it's better for Leonardo to lead and Raphael to step down.

It might be a character arc for Season 1, basically this shows version of Karai/Miwa arc from the Nick show. We're going to see a Leonardo who *earns* his right to be a leader for a change.

That's kinda sad. I doubt he really has much reason to be in on much of what's going on for the next show, so I'm leaning toward "he just didn't know." (If something was spoiled, that would be okay though.)
