DAMN GOOD COFFEE!!!!!!!!

This is great news especially with Lynch/Frost behind it. Getting Lynch behind the camera for all 9 episodes is just an added bonus. It's been way too long since he directed anything.

Time for a rewatch.

So disappointing. Showtime said they're gonna go ahead with it, but I have no idea. I hope something happens going forward that pulls him back in. I think doing this without Lynch is entirely pointless.

Beautiful news! So great, it'll be especially great to see Lynch working with a budget and a script again. Been many years (Inland Empire being an unscripted camcorder movie), one of my fav creators ever.

Twin Peaks: Amanda Seyfried Lands Mystery Role on Showtime Revival
By Rebecca Iannucci / September 18 2015, 3:32 PM PDT

Showtime’s Twin Peaks revival is bringing Amanda Seyfried back into the TV fray.

The actress has landed a major role on the ’90s series’ upcoming continuation, TVLine has learned exclusively.

Details on her character are being kept under wraps, but TVLine has learned that she will be playing a pivotal new character. (Could she be Coop and Annie’s daughter?)

Seyfried will appear in multiple episodes, making it her biggest TV gig since Big Love ended in 2011. Though she is best known for her film work these days, Seyfried’s TV resume also includes roles on Veronica Mars, Wildfire, All My Children and As the World Turns.

A Showtime rep declined to comment.

Twin Peaks co-creators David Lynch and Mark Frost have penned all episodes of the present-day continuation — which will total more than the originally announced nine hours — with Lynch directing every installment.

At the Television Critics Association summer press tour in August, Showtime president David Nevins confirmed that the revival will begin shooting in September for a possible 2016 premiere, and fans can expect “familiar faces” to join returning cast member Kyle MacLachlan. “You should be optimistic that the people that you want [back] will be there, and then there will be some surprises in addition.”

Damn at this size of this cast list. The only original cast members I don't see returning are Lara Flynn Boyle (or her replacement from Fire Walk With Me) or Heather Graham

This is so fascinatingly exciting, on multiple levels. There's the actual making good on the continuation, completion thing as promised at the end of the show... down to the year... there's seeing the returning cast come back to roles they've vacated for years.

Most of all to me, personally, is finally after like 15 years... David Lynch doing something meaningful, that's not experimental nonsense. The last movie he did that was watchable was the very, very excellent Mulholland Dr, and that was 2001.

Couldn't agree more.

Yep. I'm completely on board after the first two hours. It's not the old show but I wasn't expecting it to be.

It's weird seeing this two days after seeing Alien: Covenant because I feel like Lynch and Ridley are doing the same thing. Both are using their former creations in order to tell a story that really has nothing to do with the original. I think it works better for something like Twin Peaks that it does Alien.

So what's everyone thinking of the new stuff? I'm about to begin it, now that I've finished season 2 and Fire Walk with Me.

It's pretty funny how Lynch's season finale (the first one he'd directed in some time) successfully stampedes over all of the nonsense so far in the season, tidying it up quickly enough. I didn't care for Windom Earle and he's very quickly removed from the board... his stupid chess game never even gets finished, and I was fine with that. Most characters' story arcs are more or less concluded... though the whole Ben, "I'm your father" to Donna, that didn't really go anywhere. Or her losing her virginity to Billy Zane. I doubt either of those things pays off in season 3. Anyway, I dug the finish. Definitely brought back the creep.

Fire Walk with Me. Didn't totally care for it. It definitely feels like a Lynch movie but... I guess I didn't see much of a point to it. Was the point just to illustrate Laura's last days? Because I already had a good picture in my head of how they went from all of the clues in season 1 and what everyone recounted, and it did end up being exactly like in the movie. Cooper trying to save her (I think?) by reaching back through time was kind of neat.
