I kinda hope the skin color is right on the NECA Henson figs. That Donatello they showed at the Toy fair seems a bit too dark green.

Best of both worlds?

Yeah, getting the color right on these is tricky. Even the super expensive custom Henson statues look a little off. I know the TMNT 90 cinematographer John Fenner did a LOT of testing to try and find a nice natural look to the color and tones of the suits. Even the color on the original Henson maquettes look a little weird and toyish ompared to what was in the film.

Very tempting indeed, although I will say that as neat as NECA's stuff is, they have some QA issues that have made me a little gun-shy. I have an ED-209 with a barely functional leg - a friend of mine bought the 18" Adam West Batman, and the leg fell off two minutes out of the box. That's not what I expect from something that cost +$100.
I personally have had no QC issues with NECA, and I have a LOT of their figures, however there have been a few known problems, particularly with Superman, which Randy comments on in the video posted earlier in this thread. If you follow them on Twitter, you will know that they will replace any parts or figures quickly if there is a problem. Seems like great customer service.

Agree on this completely, I have well over a hundred figures from NECA and only one QC issue. And NECA fixed it. (missing weapon) But then again I always heat up joints if they feel stuck, as well as when switching heads or hands.

Same, and I am rougher with my toys than most people; I throw a half-dozen at a time into a plastic tub and climb on rocks and such to photograph them. They topple all over and take bad falls on occasion, and I've never had one break.

First one down.

16" is massive. Wonder why Mondos are so much more price wise?
I feel like I'm getting a big bad deal.

See what I did there?

Well I preordered just incase...... If these are released in a smaller scale I'll be buying those instead....... I wish I didn't have $720 invested in Mondo already

Looks amazing - but the size of this... I honestly don't know where I could display 4 figures of this scale...

I'll pass - then regret it probably...

Be exciting to find out what NECA's plans are for TMNT...

Fair enough - ymmv. I've been buying NECA stuff since before Twitter existed, and I've experienced my fair share of issues. I've had hand pegs sheer off, joints painted solid, ball joints that crack in half, paint rub off onto the inside of blisters, warped parts etc. I'm willing to accept that I'm unlucky.

As far as replacement figures are concerned, I live on the edge of civilisation, so 'quickly' is a relative term.

scale. win
design. win

how could you not want these ones man. Considering their original NECA Turtles were amazing quality for $15 (originally). hard to pass these up. ordered right away. two donatellos. hope to give them the confidence that these will sell like crazy and that they should make more.
