Yeah, the pre-game issue has me a little confused too; the blurb says it's a reprint of the last two Annuals but the price is the same as each of them individually, so a half-price double-dip I guess?

The cover art is really nice though.

A general problem with the series since the beginning is they're always setting up future storylines we don't see for years at a time. Case in point the 2020-2021 annuals set up the Armaggeddon game we won't see happen till maybe late 2022 at the earliest.

I'm not sure about the current run, but they very upfront that the first 100 issues were plotted out 50 at a time in terms of story beats at least.

The solicit says "connection", which makes me think said villain won't necessarily put in an appearance, and my mind immediately conjured up images of a resurrected Bishop in a patchwork Frankenstein-like new body in the same vein as in "Insane in the Membrane", courtesy of the creepy doc. Otherwise, yeah, could be Null.

Cherubae, keeper of the Turnstone. She appeared in four early issues of TMNT Adventures. She originally disguised herself as Mary Bones a swamp witch who lived in the Florida everglades. She turned Jess Harley into Leatherhead for trying to steal her orb. She helped stop Shredder and Krang in battle and banished Krang, Bebop, and Rocksteady while sending Shredder to jail.

I am surprised that she did not return in The Black Hole trilogy because she was the one who banished the turnstone and The Sons of Silence. Also, her role as a vanguard of Dimension X was never really explained or why she was hiding out disguised on Earth.

Also, just because we see a ship that reflects the Technodrome turned ship and Cherubae for the notable TMNT storyline it does not mean that its a crossover with the TMNT Adventures version. It could very well be IDW's version of Cherubae or if it is a crossover it would simply be her and her alone like how Renet of Mirage is supposedly the only version of her.

It is also good to point out that there are two Shredders. But it does look like to be two separate covers connected - at least going by that split in the city.
