Dear God, I hope not. It would be a terrible idea and I don't think it could be executed well.

The Turtles are fine the way they are, and don't need to be portrayed in such a polarizing manner.

Why hello there, friend!

No, it doesn't appal me. It's just unnecessary, that's all.

How many posts he has is inconsequential. I agree with you and not him, but please don't go down the 'I have more posts so my opinions matter more!' route.

Forum hierarchies make me want to fvcking vomit.

Or it could be that he's new to the site, wants to talk turtles first and foremost, and the most natural place to start was the general TMNT section. And this is the most recent topic.

Or perhaps you didn't have faith this time because it didn't suit your agenda. You seem to have plenty of faith in the intentions of the various man-hating sociopaths who populate the site.

Thank you very much Davetello. Your assessment is correct. And I appreciate that very much.

I came here because I wanted to talk Turtles, I clicked this section because it seemed to be the most intriguing off the bat, and I clicked this topic because well, it caught my eye.

And allow me to point out, I have nothing against homosexuals, I am a huge Freddie Mercury fan, and he was as gay as they come. I just don't think a Gay turtle is marketable. Why? Because if they decide to do a gay turtle, more than likely, the gay turtle will be your generic, cliched, stereotypical "gay" archetype. If it was a gay turtle that had a sense of individualism and didn't conform to the broad strokes of what society deems to be gay, I guess I'd be okay with it.

For example, if John Rambo was gay, but still acted like John Rambo, I wouldn't care that he was gay. I'd say "So what if he's gay? The dude is an American hero!"

But if John Rambo was gay, and went around prancing like Liberace, I would find that to be absurd, unnecessary, and highly unlikely that he would be capable of accomplishing all the amazing feats that John Rambo accomplishes in Rambo movies....

I hope I'm making sense. I didn't come here to offend any of the homosexual TMNT community, nor did I come here to disrespect them. I'm merely saying, if a gay TMNT character was done respectfully and with a semblance of originality, I'd be open to exploring it. But if it's going to be the same, watered down, cliched, stereotypical nonsense, I'd rather do without it.

Thank you and good day, gentlemen.

Freddie Mercury was bi.

Maybe from your non-gay perspective.

Why would they do this. I may be more inclined to agree with you if they were creating a new character from whole cloth.

Well you definitely did with your "oh god no", like a gay TMNT was some spawn of the devil. Precise wording, sir.

Net - the only people who 'hate' on here are the strange individuals who seem to have a severe dislike of straight men.

Turtle Mullet - no worries pal. I've seen the same sort of nonsense from long-term posters before - looking down on the new guy and trying to use his post count against him, despite the fact it's about as relevant to the topic as what shirt I decided to wear today. Like I say, forum hierarchies are an embarrassment.

"I am as gay as a daffodil." - Freddie Mercury, circa 1974

Hmm... seems pretty gay to me!

I said "Oh God No", because it's a horrible idea. A bad idea is a bad idea. Doesn't matter if it's a gay idea or a straight idea or a bisexual idea or an asexual idea, or whatever. If you want examples of other bad ideas, go watch TMNT 2014. It's stock-piled with terrible execution of bad ideas.

If you were offended by that, I apologize, once again, my intentions were not to offend. On the surface, it's just not a good idea. And if you think that it is, well, here's your chance to convince me. Pitch your concept for a homosexual Ninja turtle, and I'll give you the proverbial thumbs up or thumbs down, and we'll go from there.

Ever heard a bisexual call themselves gay before? It happens.

It isn't a bad idea, though. There is no such thing as a bad idea -- only a terribly executed one [such as the 2014 movie].

My concept of a homosexual Ninja Turtle: One of the brothers... maybe Leo, maybe Raph, maybe Donnie, maybe Mike.

He's a turtle. He's a ninja. He's trained by Master Splinter. He kicks shell. He has a strong, unbreakable bond with his family. He also happens to like men.

Apology accepted. Thank you.

And there's plenty of examples of kids shows that execute the idea of it well. Case in point, the second series finale of Wizards vs Aliens back in 2013

Then you should word things a bit better.

I always thought Nickelodeon Mikey was gay, but was surprised to hear that he is going to crush on Renet.

Not in the Nick show, but I could see it happen in the comics. As long as it doesn't take up the spotlight, I don't care.

I hope not. They can add a 5th gay turtle if they want but just don't make any of the existing turtles gay.
