I hope certain Feig has nothing to do with it. Or none from self-proclaimed male feminists at that.

Great job, Sony.

Really didn’t think you had it in you anymore to please a wide-audience with Spider-Man. Long live Raimi’s Spider-Man 2!

.......I find that hard to believe with all the movies that came out this year....
Deadpool 2, Black Panther, Avengers Affinity War, Ant-man and the Wasp, Venom.

All-Female spin-off? Like what would that even be? An adaptation of Mary Jane love Spider-Man?

My hope is that the sequel will limit the amount of Spider-Men and deeply explore the 2099 universe, with a co-starring role for Miguel O'Hara.

There are plenty of Spider Women to choose from: May Parker, Silk, Spider-Gwen.

My only hope that it won't be about "STRONG WOMYN TEAM saving DUMB MEN" stupidity. Not only this is cliche, but it reeks of creative bankruptcy and a lack of real desire to make female characters to be seen as strong and cool as their male counterparts.

If you want to show strong female characters, just make them fight as normal heroes.

If you listen to the media, EVERY new Marvel gimmick is "The Greatest Anything Since Anything, Even If The Last 'Greatest Anything' Was Just Last Week."

It absolutely will be. That's the entire reason for the project even being given a budget.

You're right, of course, but that's not what matters. This movie's agenda is, "Peter Lame - Miles Awesome." Next one, "Men Lame - Womyn Awesome". That's how you get attention nowadays.

If you actually read how people online get paid to "professionally" write, you'll notice that "good writing" isn't a thing being taught in schools anymore.

It's all critics and "analysts" who think they're super-smart but can't put "they're" or "their" where they belong, and on the "creative" side, it's all people being trained to check boxes so they don't "offend" anyone.

And as I've mentioned elsewhere, as far as which projects get greenlit, and why, a lot of it is the polar opposite of how writing used to be taught in schools. "Creative" writing has been replaced by a desperate need to create the Next Big Thing and sell it to people at a markup.

I don't think anybody knows how to write anymore, I think everybody's just wingin' it. I still keep in touch with some of my old teachers, and they're all pretty glad they're retired.

I watched a spoiler review and I'm glad I'm boycotting it. It sounds bleak as f*ck

Yeah, I read one last week and most of it sounded like, just, "Isn't Peter Lame? And isn't Miles like, sooo much better?" It sounds almost like a test run to see if they should permanently sh*tcan Peter as Spider-Man and "officially" hand it over to Miles in all media.

I went from very little interest to zero interest. I love Spoilers, they save me tons of money.

It's a movie about Miles, I don't see the problem with him being the hero/Spider-Man instead of Peter Parker, if he's there in full then there's no reason for Miles to take command. The comics handled it well, I'm sure the can too.

Hey everyone,

if you're like me and the reviews have you chomping at the bit to see this film ASAP, than head over to Fandango and search for showings near your zip code. Just this morning, early showings started showing up in my area and I was able to get a ticket for Saturday about 20 minutes from my house.

Can hardly wait to see this movie! Everyone's got to form their own opinion, but the fact that a lot of people, who like me, had Spider-Man 2 as their favorite Spidey film, are now drooling over this one, makes me think it may fit my sensibilities quite nicely.

I, for one, love the idea of Miles Morales becoming more prominent. I don't see it as Peter being dumped, but as an opportunity to finally let Peter mature a bit and maintain the "adult-Spider-Man" role. Miles can be the fresh, modern take on the classic Spider-Man myth, while Peter can evolve a bit with the older fans and show new types of struggles.
