Wait a minute, people expected Steve Trevor not to die? The modern day of the movies takes place in 2015-2017, yet this movie was World War 1.

You guys do realize most if not all World War 1 vets are not alive today, right?

I thought for sure Steve would step through a time portal, or somehow stay his age on Paradise Island until the present. Definitely something ongoing, particularly given how Pine had his choice of GL or Steve and he chose Steve.

Steve really hasn't been presented as anything but an ongoing love interest for Diana as well as Steve Trevor: Super Secret Spy in the comics. By killing him in WWI he gets to be neither of those things, so that's weird.

I wish it came out sooner, Gal Gadot is already 32 and I'd like a trilogy of movies out of her before she pushes 40.

I see no problem. With her current exercise and health routine - even at 40, 50 etc she might still look as hot as Spider-Man's Aunt May.

If she can do a lot of the movie pregnant, then she can probably pull off sequels in her 40's.

As of 2017 all World War 1 vets are now decease. The last one passing in 2012. Yes its sad to say but death does happen. Trevor if a World War I vet would be dead.

A simple time travelling using The Flash can bring Trevor to the modern world.

WW shall be reunited with his true love once more.

You might actually be pretty prophetic. I've been HIGHLY skeptical of Pine turning down GL to do Trevor... and Trevor is always historically a HUGE part of WW's supporting cast. If Trevor wasn't to endure, then why make that deal? Particularly when his Jack Ryan thing blew up in his lap and Beyond did mediocre numbers.

We haven't seen the last of Trevor. Guaranteed. But maybe not before there's some Batman love, probably.

Chris Pine will probably be doing Star Trek 4 in 2019.

Still not greenlit, still not even in pre-production.

To counter your argument:

Jimmy Olsen has historically been a fairly large part of Superman's supporting cast... and we all know how well that worked out.

I would hope that Steve Trevor and Etta Candy stay dead; bringing them to the future feels incredibly forced.

I would also hope that Man of Steel 2 someday happens, we get Brainiac or Parasite or Metallo, Lex Luthor gets recast, and Jimmy Olsen becomes a recurring character.

And while I'm at it, a gold-plated Mustang and 25 years' worth of stock in Apple...

I don't get why the Superman villain roster is so underused in movies. Plus we always get weird or wrong versions of Lex Luthor. Are we ever going to have a proper Lex Luthor on film?

I kind of wish they'd start over, but that's pretty unrealistic.

Brainiac or Parasite I could see them doing a film around, but Metallo feels like a long shot. He's on the cusp of villains just C list enough to be passed over. I'm trying to think of others that might be suitable, but save Cyborg Superman and Bizarro, it's kind of difficult. Most of the rest are like Metallo; obscure enough I'm not sure I could picture WB doing a live action film around them.

Metallo is not a C villain but I would prefer Braniac. Parasite is not nearly as interesting and I would prefer Mr. Mxyzptlk over him anytime.

Imagine Gilbert Gottfried reprising his DCAU role in a movie...

A comedic, fun-loving extradimensional being would be an interesting way to satirically comment on the grimdark qualities of the DCEU.
