I say it's hard to do anything with a guy whose real name is shortened to "E. Nigma" and take it seriously

why does it need to be serious?

Nah, I just think the situation is quite the enigma since it's been brought up

I am sorry, I have been trying to get through my work so I can have a clear schedule to see Kevin Eastman again tomorrow.

As for Batman Incorporated, yes and no. I cheated and read the final issue. Around the 1st of October. It was not bad just lost its edge not allowing Dick Grayson to be Batman. Its the Dick/Damien dynamic that works for that or any of their titles. He does not mesh with Bruce even if he is the Superboy clone equivalent to Superman (who works better himself with Supergirl).

Also, in response to the above, The Riddler's real name is not Edward Nigma, but Edward Nashton. He legally changed it to Nigma due to his compulsion and call himself out even more. Yes, Edward is hard to work beyond the Silver and Bronze Ages that is true. Yet both Loeb and Dini proved he can be formidable just as Penguin adapted with times. The Riddler is not a murderer yet repeatedly he has become one without the excuse of a demon from underneath Gotham.

I picked up Oblivion Song this week, Infidel #1, VS #1 and Fighting American Vol. 1

Oblivion felt like a rehash, and too on the nose. The art was kind of terrible. I don't understand why Kirkman sings the praises of this artist. Comics are 80% visual, and if your work is hard to look at, I'm not interested.

I like supporting indie books over DC and Marvel. Every time I pick up a new title I hope to uncover the next TMNT.

Anybody else reading stuff outside the mainstream?

hey that's something at least.
there were a few really nice moments you missed. Damian is upset because his Father puts him in lock-down in the cave, so Alfred brings him home a feral kitten.

you can blame the DC Editorial for their forced New52 into Grant's final act.
there was also a change in the tone of Batman Inc from pre-flashpoint to new52 as well.
if i had to guess, i'd imagine this was what drove Grant away from DC monthly titles, and into more creative owned properties.

i'm not sure how true this is? but according to this article Grant wanted to do a lot more stories with Dick a Damian as Batman and Robin.

Ahhh yeah I finally remembered a two-part series.

It's an educational graphic novel, but it's right up my alley, especially since I found it while in my Dalek phase.

The Stuff of Life: A Graphic Guide to Genetics and DNA and Evolution: The Story of Life on Earth

Now, I know what you're thinking...why am I sharing something over something that has started flame wars and shut downs on previous threads?

Because all the information is relayed from an alien scientist to his king while their species threatened by disease - fueled in part because they reproduce asexually.

Also, this is great:

The king and the scientist are a lot of fun in their exchanges, even if it's just down to:
"But why is that thing!"
"Well sire, I'm about to explain why that thing is!"

It's a pretty nice way to step into understanding genetics if textbook learning gets befuddling.

From what I remember, it was a lot of fun.

But the last time I read it was when I was in high school, and the best I can pinpoint on that was Junior year. So 2011.

Another comic I read a bunch (rented from the library), was the first two Age of Bronze books - I still haven't read the third. I'm pretty sure I've talked about it before, but it bares repeating.

It's basically just the Illiad, but extremely historically accurate and illustrated in a super realistic style.

I would not have dropped Batman and Detective Comics then. I know the Synder/Capello run is celebrated as much as The Dick as Batman run if not more, its just not for me.

Batgirl will face Riddler in the oneshots ahead of the wedding.Only happened in an issue of the animated comic while OG Robin faces off wirh Hush. I think Dick only had a brief enclunter with Hush in a Faces of Evil story.
Its been ahile since a Batman title got be looking flrward to its release.

you were smart to drop both Batman & Detective when you did!
i sure wish that i had. it'd saved me the trouble of having to sell them all after the Pyew52 had concluded.

the Snyder/Capullo stuff is WAY overrated!!!
the first 11 issues are good, but far from something i want to continue to read over and over.
and the art was the only real selling point as far as i'm concerned.
the writing got quite painful at times! and it only got worse during the 'Zero Year' 'Endgame' and 'Super Heavy' arcs!!!
quite painful!!!
pages upon pages of Turd-loads of exposition, and rambling run-on dialog.

now the way things have been going, i just can't get excited for anything new from Riddler, Batgirl OR Nightwing for that matter.

their characteristics have been swapped out for 'hipper' 'edgier' versions of themselves.

well except Nightwing though.
i'm not sure how this new writer is, but Tim Seeley was just writing one of the dullest Nightwing series i've ever read.

any writer that had anything to do with the 'Batman Eternal' and/or 'Batman & Robin Eternal' series needs to vacate Gotham immediately!!!

Batgirl vs Riddler from the animated run, Batman & Robin Adventures 21 (of 25).

That is the only time the two characters interacted. I recommend it!

Being two of my four favorite Gothamites it is worth the anticipation.

I bought the current Nightwing volume #15-20. I have yet to get to it,but have it on my waiting to read list. It looked like echoes of the Morrison run.

I have read through issue 8 of Secret War at the moment. Its an interesting read and a good look at the wider Marvel line at that time. I stick almost exclusive to Spider-Man in that company so its a bit of a different read.

i tried reading Nightwing 15-20 and found it pretty horrid.
a bastardization of a brilliant run.

i might have that Batman Adventures in my Comixology?
been trying to get all the digital trades as they come out.
if i do i'll eventually give it a looksee.

the last Marvel i ever bought was ther renumbered Amazing Spiderman, Avenging Spiderman and Savage Wolverine. think i lasted about 6 or 7 issues of each before dropping them.

It will not release until late July. You can use the website I showed you.
https://www.amazon.com/Batman-Robin-.../dp/1401281389

I bought the Superior run and then I kept the subscription going, but quickly got bored with it. I got it through issue 10 and dropped it. I think the volume went for 20 issues before restarting again. I did enjoy Superior and if you are a Dr. Octopus fan like myself I recommend it.

I came across a Rebirth mini-series called Titans Hunt. I dismissed it as the hated Titans 1990/1991 story-line of the same name, but this appears to be something different. I was wondering if anyone has read it or knew what it is about before I track down the mini-series. It looks to be a story of the original Titans despite the latter New Teen Titans period title it shares. Thanks in advance for information.

I am currently looking into Batman team up one-shots and mini-series. I have the complete Brave and the Bold titles and I was wondering what Batman team ups in a mini-series or one-shot would be. I am curious to see what is out there that I may not have that is recommended that I may have an interest in.
