What do you all think of the new approach to the season sets on DVD, starting with Lost Galaxy?

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00...d_i=B00KUGOSR0

Apparently, there's no more splitting of the DVD volumes.

Are you kidding? It's a good thing. They can probably get all of their seasons out sooner that way for the ones who want to pick and choose what seasons they want.

I love that. I wish they had done that from the start. Better than waiting every other month to get the next volume.

Definitely.

I caved a little and bought the 8-12 set, as I like all of those seasons. With LG and hopefully SPD released in the new format, my collection will be complete.

Seems indie PR films are all the rage now...now there's one being kickstarted and developed with the actual actors

On August 10th of 2012, along with the MMPR complete series set/seasons 4-7 bundle, Time-Life offered a 6-disc set for the complete first season. Last week on March 10th though, along with releasing the complete PRLG season, Shout! Factory put out a version of the complete season 1 set as a Wal-Mart exclusive. It has an MSRP of $14.99, and the cover art looks different. It uses the image of the MMPR season 1-volume 1 set, has a blue background, and has a peel-back graphic on the upper right-hand corner of the front cover stating that it has six discs. Wal-Mart currently doesn't have a listing for it on their site, but some other site shows the front cover.

Amazon's Canadian site also has a listing for MMPR season 2, which they also made available last week on March 10th.

http://www.amazon.ca/Mighty-Morphin-...ngers+season+2

Shout! Factory seems to also have plans to release that as a Wal-Mart exclusive, but they don't have a set date for it yet.

On the legacy set front, it started off at $650, then went down to $500, and then $400. When it was at $400, there would be the occasional sale that would knock the price down to $320. Now that seems to be the new standard price.

I wonder how many of those complete sets they still have, but I guess it shows how small the PR fandom is if they can't even sell out to a worldwide audience and they only made 2000 of them. And 15 bucks for all of S1? Jeeze, talk about devaluation of the content. Kinda sad.

Years ago I would've been all over the set , hell I spent like 24 dollars on the "best of PRs" DVD since it was all that was available that had older stuff. But with all the episodes available on Netflix I just have no reason to get it, discs are such a hassle and I just don't care to "own them" anymore.

I'll admit that the lowerering of the set's price has me a bit concerned, but still having sets left over probably doesn't mean the worldwide PR fandom is small, because we know it isn't. The original prices were steep, and that's mostly likely what put people off.

Plus I don't see the $15 price tag of the season 1 set as devaluation. What would be your ideal price for it anyway? Would you rather spend $30 on it from Time-Life? It's six discs with 60 episodes total, and zero special features.

Now who the heck is going to be the Gold Ranger? I just got confused. Ryan is going to be the gray one, right?
