I reserve the right to laugh maniacally at anyone who did. Because if you've actually been reading the book you knew he wasn't dead.

45 has been out for a while and the price only dipped a bit. That variant still has sold listings for $60+.

If they buy it digitally, the price doesn't go crazy/off the roof.

I think this is limited to the collector market. Only the 1st print A, B and Variant covers are going for a lot. And I think that Canadian variant too. The second and third printings are regular price.

But it seems like regardless of Donnie's condition, those first prints kept their value. A high-graded 1st print just went for $100.

I feel sorry for the person who bought a graded copy for $100...Not trying to come off as a dick but this issue is not going to retain any sort of value. It will come back down to earth real soon.

I used to be obsessed with getting as many covers as possible for this series (I have just about every A,B, RI combo for the first 24 issues or so), but I've since cut back on my comic reading and have cancelled all of my pull lists a little under a year ago. I'm starting to regret not at least keeping a TMNT pull though, as the last 2 issues have been a nightmare to randomly pick up. I'm glad that the book is getting the attention of more readers but having to run around to multiple shops to get the current issues is a pain in the @$$! There was a time that I could walk into any shop and easily pick up 3 months worth of this book without any complications.

P.S is there a thread out there for the Kevin Eastman RI-D hand sketch covers for issue 1? Would love to see what other people received (mine is a Casey Jones).

"The Chase" is always part of the fun with collecting, of course, but why aren't you opting to shop online if you have so much trouble locally?

I'm all for chasing toys, but new release comics are not on my run around list.

It's only been the last 2 issues that have given me any problems, I live in a city of 2.5 million people so it's hardly a local problem. I don't live in the bush and have a single store options for 100 miles...just been irritating that I have not been able to get off work, go home and walk 2 blocks to the closest LCBS and grab my copy and go home, but rather have to get on the subway or drive to another shop. I did get the last 2 issues, but had to do some running around for 44...and I just called around for 45 to save the commuting.

I refuse to buy comics online for several reasons including:

1)I'd rather support local independent stores.

2)Shipping costs/time.

3)No guarantees that my books arrive in good condition.

4) Dollar exchange rate. Why pay in US funds when shops will charge me US cover price but in CDN funds?

Simple solution is just starting a pull list again, but I suspect that the hype surrounding this book is going to fade with the casual readers/scalpers soon enough.

Anyone know the differences between the 2nd and 3rd printings of this issue?

Is is just the the text in the small print down the bottom on the inside cover that says either "SECOND PRINTING" or "THIRD PRINTING".

Or is there another indication on the cover at all? Or anything else e.g. different adverts at the back?

I think the color is very slightly darker on the 3rd printing as compared to the 2nd. Not anything actually noticeable without opening to the inside cover.

Because I'm not able to post on the Buy/Trade/Sell forum, would anyone here happen to have a spare Ottawa Comic con variant of #44 available? Thanks!
