The Old Man Joins The History Books(R.I.P.)

Richard Harrison of The History Channels long-time hit Pawn Stars has died. More commonly known as "The Old Man" he retired in July 2016 after he suffered a stroke. While he had a stroke it was specifically mentioned that effects of Parkinson's Disease that lead to his passing according to the article. He was a decorated veteran before he retired form the military and founded the Gold & Silver Pawn Shop with his by then young adult son Rick. He had two other surviving children other than Rick and leaves behind his wife of many decades. He was predeceased by his daughter who died at the tragically young age of six. The Old Man was born in my hometown of Danville. I also have watched the show being a history buff since its start in August 2009 so I am sad today.

Very sad news I enjoy the show and the personalities including the "Old Man" it sucks to hear of his passing...... Had no clue that he had Parkisons disease. I am shocked that he was only 77 I thought he was older. Hopefully the family finds peace in this terrible time.

The History Channel pays tribute to The Old Man. Here is the link to last night's special episode. It appears the family knew it was coming so a special was created narrated by Rick with clips.

Glad to have come form the same town as everybody's favorite curmudgeon.
