Coola's question should be, what's NOT racist and/or homophobic and/or sexist nowadays?
Funny thing is, if we were in 1997-1999 they'd probably let it slide, since The Rock seemed considerably darker skinned at the time. he probably just hit the tanning saloon often back in the day, I dunno. |

He was also about 60lbs smaller and his skull was a completely different shape, and there's nothing suspicious about that at all.

The only thing offensive about the Rock going to a zoological institution is that he is given special treatment because he is an actor.
Myself or anyone here goes to a zoo and we cannot interact with or touch the animals (and rightfully so, I suppose). But the Rock goes to the zoo and he's petting whales and playing with sea lions. And the responsible zoo keepers let him do this because he is an actor. But to find any other way to be upset about the Rock going to a zoological institution with his family is absolutely ridiculous. |

Doesn't seem like that good of bonus to compensate for being followed everywhere by paparazzi and having to think twice before making a public statement, though. |

As long as the animal isn't harmed, I don't really see any issues with people getting something extra visiting the zoo, be it friends or relatives of the zoo employees or celebrities. My dad knows the guy who used to be in charge of the tigers and reptile section of the zoo where I live, and we had a family trip where our family friend let us inside the feeding area for the tigers used by employees and we got to be in the same room as the first baby tiger they had when it was up for check-up. And we got to hold various snakes that the zoo was safekeeping after being confiscated from smugglers, some jack wagon tried to smuggle a freaking anaconda and got caught and now we got pictures of my dad giving it kisses while it's draped over his shoulders. |

I don't see how this is news. I see how this is an invitation for political hullabaloo, but not news.
I'm of the opinion that the less exposure these fringe weirdos get, the less dangerous they'll be.

That's kind of the quandary I think about often. There is pros and cons. On the one hand... ignore it? It proliferates and it becomes this roaring fire on the side of the freeway that everyone stops and gawks at, slowing down traffic for all. Shine a light on it just a little, laugh at it for what it is? I think it goes away a little quicker. Or at least makes for interesting conversation.

Look, the important thing is that we gotta get more people hating The Rock.
I don't think the reason is important. It's like Iraq; we can make up a reason later, the important thing is that we get this deal going RIGHT NOW because it's way past overdue, and because it's RIGHT.

Oh, you. You're just not trying hard enough.
I've been hating him for over 20 years without a break and I'm not even half tired. In fact, once you commit to it, it gets easier. Although it helps that he's just the sh*ts at f*cking eeeeeeeeeverything.

You're nto a wrestling fan. Every single wrestles gets hate from a significant amount of fans. And tbh, even though I don't hate The Rock, he could be rather annoying as a wrestler at times. Especially in 2001-2002.

The Rock as a wrestler did have some cringe worthy material and he oversold a lot of moves, but as far as the human being Dwayne Johnson goes? I got nothing against him. |

I loved the Rock's wrestling days. I pretty much stopped watching when he left. WWE doesn't really work for me without guys like him around that are kind of... "in on the joke, too."
His movies are pretty hit or miss but he's always fun to watch. "Faster" is super underrated. Fantastic movie.
