I think Dollar Tree's supplier must have had a surplus of wind-up chicks and bunnies from Easter because they slapped Halloween "costumes" on them and are selling those in the current Halloween department at one of the three locations I was at (for work) today.

Probably out of Japan. Weirdness seems to be Japan's typical shtick, for better or for worse... and bit of both. i.e. That Lolita thing is creepy as hell and way weirder than probably most boy band junk.

Was looking up the Boyd tartan to check how close a scarf is that I got for my mom for Christmas (Grandma was a Boyd, and it's either exact or very close

) and came across this guy's tattoo. Maybe that amount of plaid on human flesh is a bit much, I dunno... but I find that kind of impressive work that went into that trying to capture the varying fabric colors and textures.

11/8 -- Giant hand-sized toy (model?) pill bugs on eBay from Japan. I kinda want one, but why are these things (and so many things from Japan) so expensive! lol

So, randomly weird- last night we had an odd incident in our apartment. We went to my grandmother's house for a visit yesterday, and while we were there, she gave my mom and me some of my granddad's old books and photos and stuff. Then last night I went into our kitchen to get a drink, and found tge cabinets over the sink were wide open. Hubby has an evp app on his phone, so I suggested we see if it would pick anything up. We did- first was what we think was one of our two "resident" ghost-kids, who like to play with my figures and watch cartoons with me on occasion.

The second was far more strange and oddly specific. After the first one left, we started getting some very curious answers to our questions. Words came through like owner, recall, duty, iron, born, nurse, glory, league, and broadcast. What makes these answers so odd is that the things we brought home were mostly from my granddad's days in the Navy, as well as his school days, and that he was once a CB equipment operator and repairman.

It sounds more like you where using an ovulious 3 than an evp machine. still cool though.

that's ALOT more words I've seen come out of it than on any of those ghost shows though.

It's the same ghost detector/evp that is used on Ghost Adventures, actually. Hubby is a fan of the show, and found it after watching the show one day. We have gotten some very interesting responses from it, including the names of our two kid-spooks. (Abigail/"Abby" and Mac, which was confirmed by a friend's gf who is a medium- and she hadn't even been told anything about them!)

That's pretty cool. I assume it's that device that plays a bunch of garbled nonsense and supposedly any real word that comes across is claimed to be a paranormal communication? (Not really a show I've seen much of, but think I recall recently seeing one with something that sounds like that.)

Speaking of ghosts... Since losing one of our cats, my mom and I may or may not have both once seen a rather cat sized shadow. But the deal where it is quick enough in the peripheral vision that you're not really quite sure.

Was standing in the doorway of her bedroom the other day talking to her for a minute and pointed out that I thought our cat (the living one) had slipped through into her room, that way she's not shutting him in. But no... she pointed out that he was behind me in the hallway. She'd previously sworn she thought she saw a shadow slip into the computer room while she was in that particular doorway talking to me.

Yep, that's what I meant. The Ovulious(sp) 3 is the one that says single words. with 4 lights on the front that indicates word 'strength'. the way you described it, it sounded more like that than the EVP machine.

i'd be interested in having a 'medium' walk the office. we've had some strange things going on there too. including lights going on and off by themselves.

Walmart's little fabric draw string holiday bags meant to hold gift cards make a perfect little Santa bag for decorating. In my case, for an 11" Turtle... Made him a little Santa hat several years ago, and the bag (stuffed) is a nice addition.

Random thought... When you are watching part of this "Legend of Frosty the Snowman" animated movie (not sure I've ever come across this before) and you just can't shake the feeling that deep down Frosty is Patrick Star... Like it's not quite the same tone, but there are some very similar vocal mannerisms, for lack of a better word, that stick out.

Looked it up... Yup. For some reason this just seems strange. lol
