Iceland TV Advert Banned For Raising Orangutan Awareness

UK Supermarket Icelands recently made waves as the first of it's type to ban palm oil in it's brand of foods due to it's contribution to the loss of habitats for Orangutans, putting them at the risk of being an endangered spices.

To this end, they put out an animated Christmas commercial to make these intentions clear and to ask people to take their plight into consideration

But the ad came under the eye of advertising watchdog authority Clearcast, who stated the ad breached the 2003 communications act which states ads should not be politically-motivated.

Iceland uploaded the advert online in response
