While I'm not the biggest fan of Hercules as a hero, but I think this song is great. Can't get it out of my head

Speaking of Disney Hercules, I noticed it has some quite striking parallels to Superman such as:

1. A sassy Damsel in Distress (Lois Lane and Meg)
2. Hercules initially feeling like an outcast like Clark Kent
3. Superhuman parents whom he meets after he has grown (Jor El and Zeus) as well as being raised by humble adoptive parents when he was sent to earth.

I wonder if these were intentional?

Probably but not in the way you think. Hercules origins in mythology are far older and might have been part of the inspiration for Superman. If anything, Superman is based on ancient Greek heroes, not the other way around.

My faves, in descending order: Spider-Man, Deadpool, Ms. Marvel(Carol Danvers not the craptastic new one), Red Sonya, Superman, and Captain America.

I always thought Superman was more based off Moses and Jesus, but now that I think of it, I think Greek Mythology could've easily been another source of inspiration for Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster.

I think it was probably a bit of both.
