You and I remember the old show very differently. It looks like they crashed into the world of Steven Universe.

Though the character models look almost identical, I think the animation style looks very contemporary to CN's other new shows. The old show had a very defined two-dimensional style, as if the characters were made of paper. This new show seems to be making more dynamic use of perspective and dramatic angles.

No one cares if PPG was a "plot-driven series" like you do, that isn't soley why people like it. People liked it because it was fun, smart, and appealed to all ages, boys and girls. It may not be a great show to you, but there's no denying how it's definitely one of Cartoon Network's greatest shows considering its lasting impression.

It may not be plot driving, but you do know what makes the people in the show tick. Bubbles fears of the dark, Buttercup not having special powers, like her sisters has, and Blossom's fear of let down. They all had there ups and downs and were I suppose in a way real. Yeah they may save the day and all, but the 3 girls were also pretty flaw. They were not perfect. And the villians were just as impressiving. MoJo Jo Jo's failed attemps in enslaving mankind, and holding a grudge of being abandon, Him's "Moral victorys lol" and the low level guys like the Gang Green Gang.

I mean how can one watch Super Best Freinds, and see how Princess tricks Robin into stealing and pretty much have to confront her freinds(The PPG) in the wrong she did. And the Girls in turn forgave her. That one was my favorite of the ten years on the air lol.

Still loved Mo Jo.

"A Very Special Blossom" is an awesome and haunting episode. If it weren't for status quoe it could have led to much darker stuff.

Pretty impressive. The intro was freakin' sweet, though knowing CN these days, they'll probably cut it short. Even though this is a new series, has it ever been confirmed if this is a continuation to the 90s series' storyline or a complete reboot?

Complete reboot, I think. The girl's voices are different so it wouldn't make much sense for it to be a continuation. If it is, then great. But the voices will take some getting used to.
