I think it does cause when I go to look at earlier Lion King releases they are super expensive. Also Disney's newest Cash Cow is the Signature series. Its when something has had a Platinum and Diamond release it gets a Signature next. Lion King is still in the Vault its last release was 2011

remember there is a Broadway production, which i've seen btw, and it was amazing, so yes a LA Lion King could be done, if done right

Since it's the same guy who directed The Jungle Book, I think this will be pretty good if done right.

To be fair, Julie Taymore did the staging for that musical, and she's worked in film...and is also amazing.

So long as you ignore that whole "Turn Off the Dark" thing.

I'm curious on who they will get for the voices, I hope they can get Jeremy Irons to voice Scar in this adaption, nobody can do Scar better then him.

That's not the point.

A Broadway musical does absolutely nothing to prove a Live-Action Lion King can work as TheCanadiandrome stated.

This is a completely stupid idea. I swear if they insert humans into this....

Don't see why anyone is surprised. Disney has been making live action versions of their movies which pretty cool.

Wasn't Aladdin going to be live-actioned too? That's what I wanted. Toy Story would be cool too.

I saw the stage show, it's not for everyone.

I enjoyed the end credits of Junglebook the most. It's been years, so I don't really recall much of the 2D version.

It was great in CG, even if imperfect. If anything it might have suffered from its own ambition.

Do I want a Lion King that feels like a talking animal doc? Um, yeah, I do.
Do I want it to be directed by Favereau? I think so?
Will it be great?

Is the Lion King a great story? Lol, hell no. Horrible values about the haves and have nots, and knowing your place.

So, yeah... Not on board there; would much rather see Animal Farm, tbh.

Seems weird to make a live-action film of something without any human characters. How about a live-action Rescuers Down Under.

I dunno, Jim Cummings might be able to.

Still seems they'd adapt a film with actual human characters, though.

These movie never tells you what really goes on with the Lions, The Prides usually have more females then males, and the dominant male have sex with all the females, Its the part of the Circle Of Life that Disney doesn't want people to see. lol

Yeah, it's more than likely that Nala and Simba were siblings. Also, when a ne male takes over a pride he kills all the cubs.

Yeah, sometimes the male would hump another male to assert dominance.

Think of how different the movie would have been if Simba returned to find Scar had killed all his friends, which is usually what happens after a dominant male is deposed as pack stud.

The live action remake gets Jeff Nathanson as the screenwriter, He's done movies such as Catch Me If You Can, The Terminal, Tower Heist, and the Rush Hour movies.
