I can't believe all of us people born in the 80's or early 90's are heading toward middle age. I never thought this day would come. I still have to remind myself I'm not a late teenager or in my early 20's anymore. I sometimes forget how old I am.
When I realized there was a whole gen of young teens growing up today in the early 2000's and that I had nothing in common with them, I knew I was old. On other forums or twitter it feels weird knowing I am now double the age of some of the people I'm responding to or talking with. A kid born in the year 2001 is now 19 years old...can you believe that? I still think of early 2000's kids as babies but they're all adults now. God the passage of time is so weird. I think my mind is permanently stuck in the year 2005 for some reason. Like 2005 feels like just yesterday to me...not 15 years ago. The 90's will always be "just a few years ago." I'm also now older than my parents were when I was born, whelp. |

One that has gotten me a few times is that the original Toy Story movie is 25 years old. As far as 3D animation has come over the years and how much it has changed and advanced, it's hard to wrap my mind around the fact that a movie made back in 1995 -- two years before I graduated high school and would ever touch one of those programs and try to create some terribly amateurish models -- could already look that good and age as well as it has.
Look how primitive the ReBoot cartoon designs look now, and that was 1994. I know the likes of Disney and Pixar have the money to invest in it that others do not and have been some of the driving force of advancing the medium, but to look back and consider what they were capable of producing already that long ago... impressive in hindsight. Just hard to comprehend that was 25 years ago. Last edited by IndigoErth; 12-12-2020 at 12:46 PM. |

For me, hitting 30 was just another day and... until I hit 35... I didn't care about aging.
But now? yeah... my 53 year old dad is gray and I've got lines on my forehead and... am doing water-fasts 3x a week, cuz I don't wanna get sick and... again, don't have health insurance. It was no big deal for me when Batman '89 hit 25 years old. But when Carpenter's Halloween turned 40, it was like OH NO! This can't happen. Wow, time really flies! |

Wow, young dad. And now I feel old, thanks. lol Sister is 36 today, but our mom hit 70 last week.
On the upside I can jokingly welcome my sister into just regular adulthood... bye bye to the young adult category. (That's pretty much the only reason turning that age bothered me. lol) Last edited by IndigoErth; 12-18-2020 at 10:07 AM. |

I can't believe I'm now inching closer to 40 than I am to 30. Goddamn what the hell is going on.
I don't want to be in my mid 30's. |

God it's just so weird we're all heading toward middle age. As I said when we were all younger this stuff felt like, "far into the future" and almost like a day that would never come.
I still refuse to see myself as any older than a young man. I will never grow up. |

I know, I made this thread back in 2014 when I was 28!
Does this thread feel 6 years old? I honestly feel like I made it just a few months ago. |

Fun fact: When I first joined, Cubed was still reminiscing about the 2003 series. That seems like a lifetime ago.

Fun fact: when I joined in 2007, everyone and their mom around here was acting like TMNT 2007 was the second coming of Jesus.

Fun fact: Cubed was being harassed with turtle nostril images from a few forum members because he hated the BayTurtles having nostrils back when I joined in 2014. It took me a few days to understand what was going on.

I'm pretty sure I had promised posting ITT on the day I'd turn 30 years old.
...well I've already turned 30 years old 3 months ago. So I didn't keep my promise. That's why I generally avoid making promises. Now everyone is gonna assume I'm untrustworthy and someone who doesn't keep their word! In all seriousness now, I feel younger now than I did 4-5 years ago, oddly enough. The transition to 30 was surprisingly much easier than I had expected. |

Same here! I remember introducing myself to the forum and was moderately excited for the new film... but I remember Cubed being very negative toward everything about the movie... not just the nostrils... because I was in love with the IDW comic at the time, I kept telling him it wouldn't be that bad. Oops!

To be fair, those changes were still fresh and a large majority were not having it. Most of us were haunted by it at that time. lol

Bay Turtles and turtle nostrils were what made CyberCubed break character on the forums. Until then he mostly stuck to the TMNT sections and honestly even sounded a little robotic and serious.
He has come across as more human since then. |
