Money has always been a temptation to make people compromise their principles.

It's understandable that the celebrities and media would certainly put themselves on a pedestal of virtue since it fits their publicity agenda, but it's loathsome when the stans (obsessed fans) who boast and parade about their righteous indignation to their social circle or online, continue to support celebrities and corporations that, in actual practice, are indifferent to the causes the stans loudly advocate. Thus, revealing the stans' virtue signalling rather than accepting these corporations and celebrities for the mere money-making, goods-and services businesses they are.

...Now if these celebrities and corporations were making these business sacrifices, without the intention to garner favorable publicity from their supposedly perceived piety, then it would be different.
