If we can have Slash, Kerma, the turtleoids, the planet of the turtles and their magic gold-making machine, Tokka, and the terrorpin, we can have Venus. Last edited by Panda_Kahn_fan; 06-28-2017 at 02:30 PM. |

But I would love to see Venus de Milo brought into a one-off IDW story, JUST for the sole purpose of proving my point. IDW has redeemed far worse characters, in my opinion.

Fred Wolf doesn't count. They were two seasons' worth of stories and ninety seasons' worth of "I wish I had a time machine so I could go back to the late 80's and buy stock in Playmates."

I'm not a fan of Venus, you could say she was a second chance in herself since she borrows alot from other ideas in the tmnt lore such as having Mondo Gecko's backstory and the idea of Kirby from the scrapped 4th movie, the former I prefer leagues over Venus when compared. But still, I wouldn't mind her being done again, as long as she's done right.
In the season 2 of the Nick show, when Karai was getting mutated, I was freaking out because I thought she was going to turn into Venus since she last touched Leonardo |

Most of the episodes in the original cartoon were parodies/remakes/homages to 50-80's sci-fi movies or gangster flicks.
In fact characters from the Playmates toyline barely ever showed up. |

Use 100% the exact same Venus but she goes into the battle nexus and realizes she is the only one of herself in the multiverse and is from like the least important branch of it. Could make for some existential ****.

I'd be open to it as long as it was done well. I think IDW could gone up with a great take if they wanted to go down that road.

Venus could make for an interesting occasional ally. I actually like to think of a version of Venus that is a fighter from Usagi's world, the Kame clan. No relation to the turtles but will help out occasionally if it mutually serves her clan. I rather like the idea of the others being attracted to her physically but having nothing in common, or at least not enough to make a relationship outside of fighting allies work.

I'd rather they create a new character as opposed to bringing her back.

Interesting idea having her come from Usagi's world.
I'm surprised past crossovers didn't include other turtle people, even just in passing. Hadn't crossed my mind until now. (Though those in Usagi's world might understandably look a bit more turtle-ish than the mutant, and sometimes somewhat human-hybrid, TMNT.) |

Shell boobs or bail, she's a mutated flippin' turtle for godsake, I never understood the irrationality against anthropomorphic animals, they're meant to look human.

...Really? I guess even the concept of Venus annoys some people.

Practically all the new characters in The Next Mutation had potential, but due to bad writing and head-bashing humor, they're either hated or obscure. Such include besides Venus, Simon Bonesteel, Vam Mi, Dragon Lord, and others.

Sure give her a 2nd chance. TNM was so bad, that I think no one had a shot of shining imo. The show did not suck because of Venus, the show suck because it was bad over all lol. Making Venus taking out the Shredder and pretty much using her "Magic" powers to be stronger than all 4 turtles and Splinter, was bad writing. Was not Venus' fault.

But what would be the purpose for bringing her back? For nostalgia's sake really. She wasn't an endearing character. Even in concept, Venus was never interesting. It makes more sense to create a new character who'd be better than she ever was.

If they can improve her, and redeem her, I don't see why they cant give her other shot.
