It's essentially TMNT #9 and 1/2, since the story continues right from there to TMNT 10.

What exactly do you want to know, though?
Yes, I read it. I don't really collect comics and picked this one up on a whim 'cause Leo is my favourite turtle.
I was wondering if they were a stand alone series (wich you already answered) and if I got a good buy.
I thought about collecting mirage turtle comics, and this is my first.

Of the Mirage books it's a good one to have, because it's a great story. Not sure how much they run, normally though. The other Micros for Mike, Don, and Raph are more stand-aloney though the Raph book introduces Casey and Mikey's introduces their oft forgotten cat, Klunk.

First issue, eh? Not a bad start at all! It's a fan favorite, for sure. I hope you take interest in the rest of the Mirage books.

I've read a few, but never owned any. I hope to buy the volume one collection when I can afford it.
Thanks for the replies guys.

Obviously it's a style preference. Or maybe they took into consideration all of the penis jokes. Also, ditch the apostropohe.

Definitely a good buy. The cost for a copy directly from Mirage's website is $7.00 so if you got it for $6 then you saved some money. Plus it is probably one of the best issues from Volume One.

Anyone know when volume 3 of TMNT "Shadows of the Past" really comes out? I've read that it comes out this wednesday on the 26th, but on Amazon it says October 9th.

Amazon gets trades way after comic shops get them.

Both Diamond and IDW have it listed for Sept. 26 (along with TMNT #14).

It's fairly obvious they meant Tales Of The TMNT. They just got it wrong. Maybe one of the Mirage guys called it that casually and the RPG guys mistook it for the actual name. It happens.

But the book came out two years before the first Tales Of The TMNT issue.

Maybe they were referring to the micro-series?

Maybe by turtle tales it means just any backup story they may have been in? (Grimjack 26 for example?)

Alright, back again with my utter comic newbness. I've been trying to sort out this comic world for over a week now, and yet found that Sticky checklist only confused me that much further. So, I get that there's 14 issues so far of the current IDW comics (do these make up a volume? How many issues are in a volume? Or, what's the difference? ). Are those the same as the issues collected in this : http://www.amazon.com/Teenage-Mutant...I2TRLPVIF6I09O

There are 3 volumes out so far, is that the 14 issues? The description doesn't say anything about it other than it's published by IDW. So embarrassing, I feel like stereotypical girl who gets lost in a comic store. I'm usually pretty good at researching these things, but I feel like there's something I'm not getting and I'm confusing one thing for another.

Hey Bossa Nova, each volume of the IDW collections (known as Trade Paperbacks or TPBs) so far has been for 4 issues each. The first collects issues #1-4, the second #5-8, and the third (which was just released last Wed.) #9-12.

The one you linked to, however, is the Deluxe Edition Hardcover version of the first TPB. There's also a less expensive paperback version.

It's just a fancier version of the first trade paperback. The first half is the collected issues and the second half is Kevin's layouts for the issues and other goodies.
