Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them

JK Rowling's book Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find them is being turned into a movie TRILLOGY. It's set some 70 years before Harry Potter and is about magiczooologist Newt Scamander.

Yep, I heard about this, too. Sounds like it might be interesting. I'd love to check it out and see what transpires.

It's NOT EVEN Hobbit syndrome. The Hobbit has tons of stuff implied that you can flesh out. This book is almost non-existent!

Glad we're going to be treated to more of the HP universe. I feel Harry's story has been told, but will gladly step back into Rowling's wizarding world to be entertained by other characters and situations. Looking forward to this trilogy.

Awesome. Sure, the book is tiny, but I heard Rowling herself is writing the script, so it should be really good as there's much you can do to expand the world and the book itself.

This is a great thing, BUT... is it in the same canon as the books OR the movies? Can't be both.
Spoiler:
It's the movies, right? F**k!

It's based on a book Hermione read. The physical book WAS released in book stores a couple years back. So it's based on a book that was featured in a book....

I saw this on Saturday with two friends. It made me happy to see some classic spells being used by new characters. Plus, it was was nice to see what the Wizarding World in America is like on the big screen. Rowling also provided plenty of twists in this film like she usually does in her books.

Spoiler:
Grindewald pretending to be another wizard was exactly what Barty Crouch Jr. did in 'Goblet of Fire'. Now I see what they meant by recreating what was done in that film. The entire time I was expecting that little girl to be a villain. I thought it was going to be exactly what ABC did with Cruella de Vil on 'Once Upon a Time'. Boy was I wrong about that.

Well, I enjoyed it quite a lot, and I'm looking forward to Dumbledore in the next installment.

Spoiler:
Poor, poor Credence .

I swear, Newt has some kind of wizard Aspergers. I could smell it on him through the screen.

And I adored Jacob. He took everything so well and was so sweet.

Cool! Wouldn't have been my preference, but I like Law.

That's cool. Hopefully he'll have a longish beard, too.
