Ah, Fruits Basket. I remember the time when everyone was crazy over that thing. Ayep... *smacks gums*

I can't believe I haven't put this one up, but Volumes 4 - 7 of Death Note. Mmm...so good...

Reading Of Mice and Men in my English class, which is decent so far. There's nothing really exciting about it, but it'll probably get better.

Just finished Different Seasons by Stephen King. Top book, its four stories, three of which have been turned into films. (Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption - The Shawshank Redemption; Apt Pupil; and The Body - Stand By Me) The fourth is called The Breathing Method, and is a bit, I dunno, out there, to be turned into a film. Its awesome though...

I love everything about this book, and other than the stories themselves, I love the way King put them under different titles (and the titles themselves!), which fit the mood of each story...

Hope Springs Eternal - Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank redemption

Summer of Corruption - Apt Pupil

Fall from Innocence - The Body

A Winter's Tale - The Breathing Method.

I urge everyone to pick up this book, its amazing!

Also, Apt Pupil is really messed up...

The book I just started reading today is Four Past Midnight, another four story collection by King. This is my second time i've read it (as was the second time i've read Different Seasons.)

Finished up The Great Gatsby today, which was for -- you guessed it -- my English class. For the most part, the book was alright and I understood it as best as I could.

On my own, I'm almost done with Watchmen, which has been great and has kept me intigued about the upcoming movie.

I'm also reading Tales of Horror and Suspense, which contains the following stories by Edgar Allan Poe: The Tell-Tale Heart, The Pit and the Pendulum, The Fall of the House of Usher, The Cask of Amontillado, William Wilson, The Gold-Bug, The Murders in the Rue Morgue, and The Purloined Letter. So yeah, lots of horror stories that should keep me busy for a while. I think Poe is starting to become one of my favorite authors.

Gatsby is excellent.

I've been reading various Bukowski poetry. I need to pick up a new novel to read, but I haven't had much money.

I finished Valiant by Holly Black the other day (I've only read two books by her but I love her writing).

I might start reading Soul Music by Terry Prachett. Dunno yet.

When I Fall in Love by Lynn Kurland. It's the third book in the series she's been writing.

Toxic, you'll love it I'm sure, is this your first Bukowski? 'cuz it's ALL good. If you haven't got it yet, I would say "The Captain is Out to Lunch
and the Sailors Have Taken Over the Ship" is my own favorite, and not only because R. Crumb did the illustrations.

I just finished Outpost by Canadian SF writer Scott Mackey (misspelling? I just loaned the book to a friend so I don't have it here) It's got everything you could ask for, mind-controlled humans living in an alien "werewolf" prison, time travel back to the Italian Renaissance, and a tribe of primitive folks eeking out an existence as giant monster hunters on a harsh alien world.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

Nah, I've read Ham On Rye and Post Office, and as far as poetry goes I've read Play The Piano Drunk Like A Percussion Instrument Until The Fingers Begin To Bleed A Bit, Mockingbird Wish Me Luck, and Come On In!, as well as various manuscripts and things posted on Bukowski.net. He's great.

Been reading Cerebus Volume 11: Guys a lot lately, which is basically a look at pub life and how Cerebus interacts with the characters. It's pretty funny so far and Cerebus' drunk escapades keep me interested. I think Dave Sim kinda went overboard with the aardvark's drunkenness, though.

And on the side, I'm reading The Zen of Zombie by Scott Kenemore, which is pretty humorous at times. I guess, in a way, it could be considered a mock self-help book. But if you're looking for something different and a good laugh, then I recommend it.

Just started reading "Leonardo's Swans" by Karen Essex

Gotta love historical romance novels that deal with Renaissance artists. Altho this isn't about one of Leo's lovers (unlike the other books I have, "The Stars Compel" which is about one of Michelangelo's lovers and "The Ruby Ring" which is about Raphael's love). This is about 2 sisters who were models/muses for Da Vinci. Isabella and Beatrice D'Este. As well as the politics they were involved in (they were royals). Some believe Beatrice to be the inspiration for The Mona Lisa.
