Tom Cavanagh has joined the cast of The Flash. He will be playing Harrison Wells, the dude responsible for the funding of the Star Labs particle accelerator that gave Barry Allen his powers

I'm so psyched for this show. I love Arrow, and I think Gustin was great as Barry in the 2 parter. I'm a big fan of the John Wesley Shipp series, so it's great to see the Flash get another show

How awesome would it be if Shipp played Jay Garrick?

While it would be cool if he played Jay Garrick Im thinking that he'll end up being Barry's dad.

Looks pretty sweet, i gotta say. The neck collar makes me a little nervous we'll see something Smallville-esque than Arrow-esque but we'll see. Hope its a fun series

I didn't notice the collar until you pointed it out. That is definitely cause for concern... especially since they're just showing the head.

Stuff like this makes you realize how stupid superhero costumes look when people wear them in real life.

I like how kids these days entirely miss the point of how super-heroes have always looked flamboyant on purpose. It's kind of always been the entire point of them having costumes.

"Look at that guy in the cape and mask and primary-colored spandex get-up. He looks ludicrous."
"He sure does."
"Any chance you got a good look at his face while he was punching our teeth in?"
"Honestly, I was too busy trying to figure out how I was gonna explain to the guys in holding that I got my ass kicked in by a nutjob in a cape."
"Yeah. This is pretty embarrassing. I think I'm bleeding internally, and I have no idea who did this to me. Damn it."
"I mean, we totally could have just shot him in the face, but-..."
"-But the fact a guy in a mask and a cape just jumped off a goddamn roof and started screaming at you sort of threw you off. I know. I know."
"I wish we killed him."
"I wish he'd killed the BOTH of us."

But yeah, they're supposed to look stupid. Which, in a roundabout way, makes them even more awesome.

Not bad. I guess he can have kneepads, why not.

Having a thin, barely visible yellow line going around his arms instead of the usual lightning motif is an odd choice, simply because the detail is so hard to even see that it may as well not be there.

Not bad.

At first glance it's better than I was expecting but I'm going to need a better photo with proper angles and lighting before I judge it.

I'm hoping for another live action Superman series, but I guess that'll be on the back burner for a while now.

Anywho, the costume looks cool to me. Still does a great job at hiding any possible collar, though. Not that it'll make or break the costume at this point, just preference.

OK...no. The outfit looks like a Halloween costume. What is with those pants? And those sleeves?

It's like they only worked on the mask.

Hmm.. I get the feeling if Smallville had an 11th season, the costumes would look like this.

I'm still okay with it, actually. You'd be surprised how well costumes can look with good lighting and a competent director.

Hm. Boy, that really doesn't hold up well in the daylight. Looks too much like Affleck's Daredevil costume, or just a generic motorcycle outfit.

The mish-mashed smooth/rough texturing on the jacket is weird.

I don't hate it, but I take back a little of my earlier enthusiasm.

Shipp's costume was better.

I understand the want for fancy looking costumes, but I kinda like it when they look sh*tty, too. Makes it seem more just, thrown together. I know if I became a superhero, how fancy my costume is would be a low priority.

I could go either way.

But yeah, I like it.
