The 50s slang and lingo didn't bother me much. I guess it's because it wasn't the only series that made references to the 1950s at the time. Muppet Babies comes to mind. Oh and Back to the Future. It's probably because of the ages of those involved who had fond memories of the decade or who were born in it or grew up in it. It's like how this version of the Turtles make references to things from the 70s and 80s.
