You'd probably never see sexualized characters in shows literally aimed at young kids. That'd be weird. Anpanman with sexualized characters. Creepy thinking about it. That aside, yes women and girls are sexualized in some way everywhere. It also depends on the demographic and crap like that of said series for the Japan shows/comics. Shows that feature people bathing (unless it's ecchi stuff), btw, isn't sexualizing. It's ingrained into the culture and people bathe together, like parents with their kids (weird to me, but I blame my being from the US for that). Nudity isn't seen in the same way here. Breastfeeding isn't taboo, for instance and at an early age kids, know of the body differences because they change in front of one another and use the same restroom. They learn at a young age that nudity isn't a big deal. Elementary School is when they separate them. |

Pokemon, Digimon, Yu-gi-oh and other "kids anime" all have fanservice scenes that sexualize the female characters in them. And most of the girls on those shows are as young as 10 and early teens.

Oh, really? Then by all means Cubed, share with us some examples of this from those shows. Because you CLEARLY are an expert when it comes to anime.

Well if you watched the shows you would probably know, various swimsuit scenes or suggestive camera shots that focus on cleavage/legs, etc. Yu-gi-oh especially has tons of fanservice since its also technically a shonen show and not aimed at just kids.

Your delusional. Not every anime has fanservice.

I have watched them, but it's been years since I saw them and I honestly don't feel the urge to go back and watch all those episodes.
And you still didn't provide any examples. But I don't want this thread to go off topic than it already has so I'll just leave it at that and leave you to your delusions about anime.

Not every, but most do.
Just go on google and type in the series name and fanservice. You'll find a whole bunch of examples as some people catalogued all this on either sites or youtube videos. |

Maybe this project would be events from the show from her point of view. For example we have her writing in that journal in the beginning of season one. Such as for example there are moments where something happens and then the series just doesn't focus on it any longer, such as that the three months at the farm house...that could be an entire arc.

Anime is from a culture that views things like public bathing, and nudity differently than we do, though. Different set of morals there. Can't compare it with Western cultural norms.

Sorry I can get that to a degree but there are some straight up perverted stuff in anime that's wrong not matter which country views it.

ROFL! Not gonna lie- I kind of agree. Quote:
First off, most of the stuff Cubed is talking about, is in animes aimed at ADULTS. Things like Akira, Ghost in the Shell, Ninja Scroll, etc. Sailor Moon, Dragonball, and even Inuyasha have SOME little "fanservice" moments, but again, they are aimed at an older audience, NOT kids as he seems to think. Most of those anime are aimed at the 15-20+ crowd, actually. In other words, an audience that is more mature to begin with. Secondly, what WE consider perverted (the bathing, locker room scenes, and similar scenes) is not at all to them. It's normal. Even parents and kids or sibling or whatever in the same tub or pool naked- they don't look at it as a sexual thing AT ALL.

and yea I also get that too. Still whether it's aimed at teens or kids, anime tends to over sexualize their girls way too much. Such as Fairy Tail, which I heard was actually for kids. but....anyway we are getting off track from the subject....bottomline...I hope April looks okay if this is a show or miniseries.
