Recieved these from Paul Harmon about a month ago.
This is the original test art he supplied to Mirage to get the Tales 36 gig Attachment 5373 Pages 28 & 29 Attachment 5372 and a recreation of the cover (one of my favorites) Attachment 5374

That's niiiice. I've talked to him about that Raph cover, and if he's willing to let it go. But he refused because of its sentimental value to him. He was telling me, that he could recreate the cover. I didn't want to spend that kind of money, back then. But now, since I see yours, I'm getting second thoughts. I think I'll have to talk to him again.

To the guys in this thread who have vintage art like Archon, Terminator and Samhain, how did you guys score these pieces?
Also, to anyone and everyone who has posted in this thread, what is your favorite piece of tmnt related artwork that you own, and why? |

This is the favorite piece of art in my collection because Jim sketched and inked it right in front of me.

Nice choice. I am not a fan of his style but i appreciate all the work he has done for the comics. Lawson is dedicated. Did you request the turtles surfin' on a slice or was that all him? Either way, crazy layout. Would love to see this in color or better yet, a cover.

It's always been one of my favorite TMNT pictures, ever since I saw it as a little kid. I'm a big fan of the infamous dogs playing poker, so a TMNT parody gives me a big grin. & it's wonderfully done, too. You can see all the turtles' personalities in it. My other favorite (and quite possibily my #1) was my first piece of turtles art, a commission from Jim Lawson. One of my favorite artists penning my favorite turtle. I requested Leo meditating and he blew it out of the park with extra detail. So I love the work itself, but it's also high in sentimental value as it came first and basically started my art collecting

The only things vintage I have (if you bypass the page from issue #19 I have), are the issue #1 layouts, and I know what looks they get
My favourite piece? It makes me chuckle still, so oddly I'm going for this sketchcard that Dooney did for me...

i obviously LOVE all the pieces that i have in my collection but if i had to choose as to a favorite, this one has always put a smile on my face when i look at it. it's got that old school mirage feel to it. it was also Jim's first recreation of this cover.
Spoiler:
this is another one that i really enjoy. the paint work is fantastic and i love the seeing brush strokes. Spoiler:
