The difference in the two introductions are a huge 3-4 fold improvement!

The faces in the revised version genuinely display the personality behind the Turtles compared to the more vapid facial expressions in the initial intro. (Not to belittle your previous work or effort...)

Whenever it comes to artwork about people/emotions, the most subtle details of the face make dramatic improvements since we (being visual creatures) can immediately sense the emotions of people by simply looking at their faces.

Your work is on the cusp into entering into "professional" grade work! Just plain awesome Vegita-San!

New Models, minus hand and feet completed for the turtles at least, it's time to slowly update the introduction for a third and final time. I want t his to be exact, with a few new fun touches now that the computer does most of the animating work.

The original shot done in May 2011 for comparison.

New sword pose for Leo. Getting 3D to match up with 2D when there is 2D trickery involved is incredibly tough. it'd also help frame by frame if the cloud animation matched and didn't jump around into different shapes like it does in the source material...

All shots with the Turtles and buildings only are being worked on first... Then I'll go on to finalizing the April Model and fix those next. I think these Turtles are as close as I can get to the source material after almost 12 years of working in CG.

The progress you have made throughout this thread is nothing short of amazing! I can't wait to see your continuing updates on this project and where you go from here. No doubt in my mind you will be doing this professionally one day, just keep working hard like you have here. Seriously great work!

Top part done, now for bottom part

Bottom part is all done, minus one building and some color correction, detail fixup. In the original intro, the buildings are basically just lines, no real detail. here, i'm trying to make it look a little new york. Grocery store in the background, pub on the right, car park on the left...Not sure what the fourth missing building should be yet.

Also, you know those lines that show the panning from top of buildings to bottom? Can I replicate that using camera filters? much easier than reproducing 10 frames of lines..

R2D2 has been taking up most of my time..but halfway through the remake of the intro.

R2 D2 has been taking up alot of my time in the last few months.

now that he is mostly finished, it's time to try and get back into this. So much for the vaunted linked in. Sent this off to a few animation professionals at DW, pixar, etc, hoping they could give me some pointers or reviews, so far no one's written back a month later ;o)...

trying to get back into this. The first 40 seconds of intro for try 3 are locked down. I'm never doing it again. this is as good as I can make it. 9 scenes left to finish it for good.

I'll be doing the actual episode fixups out of order.
