Oh, go away. Shoo shoo...

EDIT: Is it odd that I just had a Vulcan/Romulan thought regarding the Kraang (ugh!) and the Utroms?

Thank you, Machias, and thank you gobo, for addressing my concerned post. I feared that everybody skipped over it, and now my suspicions about Donny's height are calmed, for the time.

Still worried about the "goofiness," though. Can anybody shed more light on this? Did Joe just make it up?

I don't really like April studying to be a kunoichi, but that is me just being nitpicky. The things that have been said so far are good enough for me to go and watch the show and be entertained. Which is really my only priority in a tv show, to be entertained.

I'm ok with most of what's been said so far. Seems like the changes are being made with some kind of intention of building up a solid new universe. Actually, the third toe is probably what bothers me the most.

My thoughts exactly. After hearing the low down I still don't see why Joe was so bent out of shape. He complains about a tall physically imposing Splinter, but there's precedent in Archie. Teen April’s about the most “Really?” change. There is no precedent for it (though studying under Splinter is a very Archie touch, too) and it seems to be only done because she may be the character we (or rather the audience, since it’s meant for young tweens) relate to. Kinda hard to relate to mutants. April kinda had that aspect in the other media too, it just seems played to the Nth degree here.

Alrighty, I broke down and added more details to My review in the News Thread - I got a lil more art-centric in the details. Did anyone here mention Donnie's Rail Car project?

I loved Archie Splinter, so this new Splinter is Right up my alley..

while the story of and everything seems to be looking good on this TMNT cartoon, it does seem very childish at the same time, but i guess thats the way to go so it brings in the audiance since mostly kids watch cartoons anyway.

I think Joe just has the same view as the turtles as Andrew, which is fine but they can't expect everyone to dislike it, I really don't dislike anything besides the Kraangs. Is the Kraangs something that any of you that went mentioned it'd be better to actually have one leader being the actual Krang? Thats the only thing that bothers me.
Anyways when I was watching The Next Mutation, Splinter always seemed odd to me since he seemed way too big, he was the same size as the turtles and always looked a bit odd. I don't mind him being taller though, not something I'll lose sleep over it.

Another question, how were the weapons handled? Mostly talking about Mikey/Don, did those blades come out all the time? How often did they use just regular bo/chuks? Did the blades seem gimmicky?

Machias, any idea how old the Turtles are starting off in this series? I saw from your other thread you mentioned they might be around 13. If so, I can blame Donny's tall-ness to the fact that he grew a little faster than the others. I still don't like it, though. They should all be around the same size.

Donny's rail car project sounds very, very interesting!

Could you guys give us more info on the first wave of figures?

I'm thinking it's going to require a bit of older fan imagination...

I thought the weapons were used well, agewise... they came across as 13 or 14, they're a little younger than Mirage #1 - Splinter seems very much protective of them and doesn't like them going to the surface...

As far as darkness, I think they might surprise us..

I'm glad this isn't just Mirage crap. I was afraid of that after that Toon guy (or maybe someone else) said they had stacks of Vol. 1 around.

F*ck, I'm WAY more concerned about this-

Not a big fan of the changes they made to April Oneil’s character. She’s 15/16ish and emo!

Um.. I do believe that is correct. The one song I remember the most was one that went, "All the girls standin in the line for the bathroom.." Weirdest damn song I've ever heard.
