Now there are a couple of villains from Forgotten Realms I love, too- Artemis Entreri and Alton De'Vir. Both were great villains for different reasons- though Entreri eventually "reformed" in a way. I loved the Sellswords books with him and Jarlaxle Beanre. Regarding Vecna, how do you think he would stack up against Larloch, or Halaster Blackcloak? Granted they never became gods but as liches go, Larloch was considered the most powerful of all, and Halaster is arguably the most insane mage who ever lived.

More recently, Lt. Gerard from the 1960s tv series The Fugitive, though he’s not really a villain. He’s just obsessed with hunting down and recapturing Kimble.

Ok trying to put down ones that people haven't really mentioned.
Lucifer from Supernatural, as well as Azazel Cell from DBZ (they're all so damn charismatic) Freddy Kreuger in the Nightmare on Elm Street series Rico from Judge Dredd (LAAAAAW)

Eclipsa's barely a thing yet . Sure, she's shown up and cast some misgivings.
Toffee, however...(with his...incredibly gruesome death. On Disney.)

So many to choose from. I think Darkseid is at the top of my list. Of course, there's also Krang/Kraang, and the various incarnations of Shredder I've seen over the years. I've recently gotten hooked on all things Dragon Ball and am enjoying that cast of villains very much. I've only seen Frieza in the Bardock movie since I'm trying to watch everything in order, but can't wait to see more of him later in Z. That guy's brutal. I'd be remiss if I failed to mention Stephen King's Randall Flagg, the Crimson King who commands him, and Pennywise. More later if Spectrum cooperates.

He is deadly, brutal, crazy strong, fast, smart, and just doesn't care. You tell me this face isn't intimidating.

Alot of recent Super Sentai villains were great.
Enter from Go-busters Zetto from Toqger In recent power rangers series the only interesting villain was Heckle and even then he was quickly pushed away.

I like my villains wonderfully evil for the sake of being evil, so Emperor Palpatine and Carnage are my go-tos. Oh, and Lord Zedd before he was neutered. |

This made be laugh! So true and yet even went camped up by Rita he managed to do damage. Of all the villains on my own list he is the only one I don't revisit.

Yup! After 10 years of Smallville's Lex Luthor, who was also wonderful, I just had my fill. Let them get wicked!

My favorite type of villains are the ones who can do the most irredeemable things but still care/respect their comrades and families example includes Chrollo from Hunter X Hunter, Doflamingo from One Piece and Doctor Doom depending on the writer. I also like villains who have sort of a "Blue and Orange" morality to them, they have their own moral code and lines they won't cross but are pretty much alien to both the characters and the viewer, examples include Yoshikage Kira, Kimblee and a lesser extent Beerus. I also like the ones who I can see having a decent conversation with or having a nice lunch with.

I'm actually a little amazed that I know the "We were talking about One Piece" scene...not the show itself, but I've seen the clip.

Because its a weird ass scene in soooo many ways, you don't see a lot of anime referencing other anime and the dude killed the girls whole family and only paused for a moment just to talk about One Piece

Lord Zedd erased the green powers, destroyed two sets of powers, killed off his successor villain, nearly killed Kimberly, and like Shredder could have done even more had censors not got in the way. In Zedd's case it was children's mothers, his greatest enemy. I was intimated by him at age 7, but I liked the fact he did. This captures Lord Zedd in all his evil glory.

I also like villains that aren't evil by any means. Y'know, like the East Compton Clovers. They're practically the hero of the story. Go Clovers.
