My favorite OT episode ever, next to Sky Turtles.

Ah, so hilarious yet it was the only season 3 episode I don't remember seeing as a kid.

I know! James Avery was good at trying to act silly. I liked how Shredder's torture was to turn Leo and Raph into a pizza (well really burn them), but just them stuck in a scenario like that.....I'd probably be laughing the entire time!

All I can say is that episode was a classic in its own right!

Little quoty-quote for ya:

Raph: "It sure is hot in here...(finds out that he and Leonardo are heading for the pizza oven) no wonder! We're about to become today's hot plate special!"
Leo: "Uh! What a way to go! We'll probably get eaten, by Shredder!"
Raph: "Or worst yet... Michelangelo!"

I loved that line (and episode) too.

Only plothole was, if Shredder thought he was Michealangelo.... didn't he think it was weird there was another Michealangelo in the sewers and on his Cheapskate?

Well, it wasn't like Michelangelo was much of a thinker in the first place.

Besides, Shredderangelo never really looked in a mirror and saw himself.

Not only that, but you think he would've noticed he was wearing Shredder's outfit and had human hands.

It's hard to pick a favorite episode of the OT since there are so many I love, but this might be it. It's definitely in my top five, at least.

This was probably one of the first episodes I ever saw when I was a kid, and it's still one of my favorites. I remember watching it in school and sadly, when the tape was over we had to go back to class. We proceeded to make several "I crave school no more" cracks, lol.

Incidently, I probably learned what the word "crave" meant from watching this episode, lol.

So it was entertaining as well as educational. Never thought of it that way.

Definitely one of my favourite episodes! It reminds me very much of The Old Switcheroo, with it having the same sort of premise, another fav of mine.
I liked the random shifts in animation too. Like the scene when the turtles first encounter Shredder in the lair, their expressions become extremely cartoony for a few seconds.
This is also one of James Avery's funniest performances!

Doesn't matter where the knowledge comes from, right?

Yeah I always wondered about that too, lol. I guess they were trying to get across astonished expressions, but it was a little over the top for a second there, hehe. Still liked it though, somehow it worked in the moment, lol.

And yes I always laugh at Shredder in this episode, brilliant!

Right. As long as it is useful to you, it's fine.

I should have not just watched this at 4 am. I may have just woken up the whole neighborhood!

You would not believe how much of my vocabulary was learned from the OT. I learned what cufflinks were from "The Big Cufflink Caper". My dad was a bit surprised when I recognized his pair.

Lol, that's great. And of course my parents had a heck of a time trying to explain to me that Leonardo (etc.) was actually an artist, lol. I know a lot of parents probably didn't like that, but I look at it this way: Kids knew and recognized these names for years after that; much more than they would have without the OT.

Oh and I have to say, watching these episodes again I'm reminded of why I had such a crush on Michaelangelo back in the day, hehe. You know he was like the little kid in the group so you could identify with him when he made mistakes and you felt sorry for him when the others scolded him just for eating all the pizza...again, hehe.

Btw Oniri, love that sketch in your signature, lol.

This thread made me curious, so I purchased a dvd copy off ebay. My package arrived yesterday and I had a great time watching this episode.

April: And we gotta find poor Michelangelo too.
Shredder: Hey, don't be a doofus babe. I'm right here. *puts hand on April's shoulder and took an eye full*

LMAO
