Which merchandises and toys dominated which Christmas?

Now when Christmas is over, it would be fun to make a list:

Which merchandises and toys did children want for Christmastime? It can be toys, videogames and other things. What was the Big Things for children during the holiday season?

Example

1978: Star Wars

1983: Masters of the Universe?

1984: GI Joe, Transformers

1989: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

1990: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles

1991: Super Nintendo Entertainment System

1992: Toxic Crusaders

1993: Jurassic Park, Power Rangers

1996: Nintendo 64

and so on.

The Christmas and holiday season spawns over New Year but to make it simplier, you just need to write the actual year Christmas Day occurred. You can add multiple things for each year.

Let's begin around 1965, with the Saturday morning cartoon concept kicking off but if you know more about earlier years, don't hesitate to add.

Because of continuity and timeline errors, I've given up writing fanfiction based on the 1987-1996 animated television series. Instead, I'm trying to reboot the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles story, something many other fanfiction writers alredy do:

Hopefully, stories will later appear at

The Nintendo Gameboy was the most wanted toy in the United States for the 1989 holiday season. The Turtles were in the third spot behind Batman that year.

Your list should read like this:

1977 - Star Wars Early Bird Packages
1978 - Simon
1979 - Atari VCS
1980 - The Rubik’s Cube
1981 - Lego Trains
1982 - BMX Bikes
1983 - Cabbage Patch Kids
1984 - Generation 1 Transformers
1985 - Teddy Ruxpin
1986 - Teddy Ruxpin (again)
1987 - Koosh Balls
1988 - Nintendo Entertainment System
1989 - Nintendo Gameboy
1990 - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles
