Ever since it was announced Michael Bay had a hand in the film relaunch, I knew something bad would come of it!

God dammit.
Are we really gonna have to hear all this unwarranted Michael Bay hate for the next 2 years? HE DID NOT WRITE THE ****ING SCRIPT! He's not even directing. Viacom had him show off that previs stuff because he's a big name in Hollywood and they want this movie to be a success. Of course they'd rather have him pimping the movie out rather than some other dude from Platinum Dunes that no one's ever heard of in their life. That being said, this alien business is going to really rub me the wrong way if Utroms are not involved. |

Maybe Michael Bay wasnt aware of the TMNT back story and just assumed they were another race from a different planet like the Transformers LOL. I really hope this is the case or I will be very dissapointed

This thread title is very misleading, not to mention exceedingly premature. Michael Bay never said such a thing. We don't really know anything yet. Calm down.

Which isn't to say this movie will be bad because of Bay. I don't think I've ever seen a Bay movie that wasn't entertaining, except maybe the very boring and nonsensical Transformers 2.

Wow. Hope dropping by the second. Which might be for the better considering the lower my expectations the bigger chance I stand to maybe like it. So far this film has some strikes against it.
One a horrible director who hasn't made a single good movie. Two Michael Bay's involvement is much more then originally advertised. Three they seriously think aliens are a good idea. Four they changed the name so they don't have to include alien in the title and blow more smoke up the fan's asses. Five they hide behind Kevin Eastman for every bad decision they make. Six they throw out the BS excuse that "Well they came from aliens derp derp so technically they were aliens in the source material too." Oh boy you knew what TCRI was, want a freaking medal? I'm ranting now...I don't need a "huge fan" working on the project. Star Trek turned out just fine because a major fan wasn't working on it. I don't need Kevin Eastman's involvement to feel better about it. What I need is someone who observes the franchise, fan or not, pulls out from it what worked best, and builds off that to create something awesome. So far I'm not seeing that happening. I see a bunch of assholes telling us what we're gonna like. Sorry slapping Ninja Turtles onto a turd doesn't guarantee I will buy it. |

I agree with you completely!!! I was told the same thing from a buddy of mine! Bay isn't directly involved. No need to slag the guy.

I wish Peter Laird would be true to his world and just leave the TMNT world completely.

Well, as one of the original creators of the TMNT, he really can't leave it alone no matter what. He's entitled to his opinions on things even if he has nothing to do with the franchise itself.

Hey, he's free to come and go as he pleases! I'm glad he likes to throw in his two cents every now and then, even if we don't like what he's got to say!

It doesn't seem a long leap that the blogger would hear alien and just assume alien planet. Heck that's what a lot of you here are doing. Calm down tell we get more info.

It's been said their origin has been updated to an alien planet. Obviously it's not just what Bay said.

At the very beginning of the thread there's a link. Click that link and watch the video. Michael Bay says, "These turtles are from an alien race."
There's your source. It was established in the very first post. |
