I might not participate but I genuinely miss the days when Art and Writing Contests were all the rage around here. I only barely took part in them then, either, but a lot of people did and it was nice to see so much enthusiasm.

Then I was away for a long while, came back and everything was much more mean-spirited than before. Seemed like anyone who'd be enthusiastic for such projects was being derided as "furries and shipper trash" so nobody really put themselves out there anymore.

I'unno, I always thought it was fun seeing what people came up with. By all means, try and grease the wheels and get that kinda thing moving again. You have my support!

EDIT: We should also consider those future timelines. The one where mutants were common and humans were extinct or living underground, just because they were majority mutant doesn't mean the future has to be a dystopia. What if the future turns into a Fast Forward type thing? Or how it was in Mirage volume 4?

There were those stories set 150 years in the future from the Archie Comics. It had humans and mutants. Future Raph was married to a mutant coyote.

For my part, though, I do see a world of difference between, say, April banging one of the TMNT and say, her going to the zoo and getting freaky. Maybe that's a Me Issue and maybe I just watch too many cartoons.

Point of fact, though, even though it never "got physical", April and Donnie teasing a relationship for the Nick show was a huge plot point, and so I have to feel like at least in theory, a lot of people have to kinda feel the way I do about it or else it wouldn't have even come up, let alone made it into the show and then made a big deal of. I don't think it helped anything (I'm on record that it's one of my most-hated things about the show, mostly for being a pointless waste of time), and I admit I'm shocked that there wasn't a big backlash to it, but it does illustrate that when it comes to sapient anthro characters, at least, it seems like there's not much of an "Ew" factor anymore for most people.

That's my take, anyways.

Of course, it could be that the people who made the Nick show are all just a bunch of perverts and wierdos! I have my own questions for them, on account of they went and made April a teenager for no good reason, and then made sure to stick the camera square on her ass constantly, often in zoom close-up. That's pretty "questionable" in and of itself. So who knows? Maybe they're all just crazy, over there!

Well, it was I who brought it up many any posts ago by hinting that no one on the Drome should ever talk about sex with mutants, aliens, animals etc. because it's nasty, but then the convo shifted into zoophilia and I was just pointing out that it's not seen as such a bad thing in parts of the U.S.
