I'm actually surprised it took him this long to set his sights on Stockman. Which why I think he might not be going for straight-up assassination, but something more subtle instead. We'll see, I guess.

The exciting thing is, if Stockman becomes Mayor (and it's almost guaranteed he will), then New York will truly become a city at war. He's not exactly a fan of Karai and will want her out of his turf, he won't need the Turtles or April anymore, he will have the clout to deal with Bishop more evenly and put an end to their arrangement, etc, etc. Not to mention his ongoing feud with Hob, which will only escalate after this no matter what happens. It truly is everyone against everyone, and a dangerous new major player has just entered the board. As always, the hard part is the wait for new issues.

Could be the very force that brings mutants to the public eye too.

Hob brings mutants into the limelight because of his failed assassination attempt. Stockman would have likely helped keep it all quiet,but Hob had to get revenge for the early issues. Hob did go out of his way to blow up StockGen back in issue #26 so it does fit. Especially with the attack on Null without instigation showing as much. Without Slash to hold him back Hob is going to cause all mutants trouble.

If I'm being honest, this is the issue of City at War I'm most excited for and probably the one with the most long-term implications.

Yes, judging by the solicitations for this issue and what's said in the solicitation for 99 concerning this issue, it appears something big is gonna happen here. Maybe Hob declaring war on humanity with his new army created from whatever he did at Nulls a few issues ago.

Yes, I'm sure Old Hob and his army of about 8 mutants are really going to pose a threat to the 8 billion people living on Earth. Something tells me Old Hob thinks way too small and thinks NYC represents the entire planet.

Tho I am interested to see what comes of that info he got from Null....and the little comment about getting ready for something later that he said a few issues ago.

Something big will happen for sure, just probably not war on humanity. Not yet, anyway. Mutants being outed to the public is one of the things I've been anticipating the most in IDW TMNT.

And then maybe, in the epilogue to 100, we'll finally learn all we need to know how the Turtles and Splinter were reincarnated.
