Disney CEO needs to take out "woke" dick from his ear.
This audience is not worth pandering to.

Can't read the article at the moment, but without further context, my thoughts are:

On a storytelling level (script, acting, direction, uh pretty much everything), no way. I mean, art is subjective, so he is free to feel that way, but as I believe Andrew said in another thread, we are all going to snicker at him.
I enjoyed Black Panther. I own about a third of the MCU films - the ones I truly enjoy - and BP isn't among them, but I did own it at one point. I like it.

That said, I can see the argument that maybe Black Panther is just as important a film, if not more. Culturally speaking. The film clearly meant a lot to many people. Fans have been vocal and it made tons of money. It's not for me to say whether that was the first film which truly represented certain minorities, or made them feel seen, so I just take their word for it.

Again though, to round out my point, the statement comes off as laughable, when you think in terms of basic quality.

Anthony Mackie, among other things, says Marvel was basically... racist to hire only black people to work on Black Panther. He's not really wrong:

Well the film composer for Black Panther was white. And uhh, like 3 of the cast, one is just there to prop up the main villain and dies by his hand with ease, another plays the buffoon, and the third being Bucky (super brief.)

But I get his point.

Either let's keep things equal or stop pretending that equality is the real goal here. Sometimes the double standards cause you to think.

I think black representation in American media is actually really strong and about where it needs to be (when compared to demographics.) -- what needs to be focused on is representation for other groups like asians or latinx people.

Welcome to the new age of segregation.

Also, not latinx. Latino.

Well i see people use Latinx a ton so I'm just trying to be respectful and use the term people prefer. I didn't know it was in contention.

"Latinx" is what "concerned" white people are using.
Most of Latino people don't really care.

At least it wasn't Matt Damon starring as T'Challa.

True. It's mostly just "concerned" white SJWs trying to own/change the language, as always.

Kinda like a few decades ago, they removed Speedy Gonzalez cartoons because white people basically felt offended 'for us'. Naw man, Speedy was our boy. Glad he came back years later.
