I started rewatching Sword Art Online.

I still love this show, despite its many flaws. The first 14 episodes are marvelous, and are truly the best the franchise has to offer. Alone they would make for a fantastic anime, but sadly things couldn't have stayed in the original SAO game, and we got the ALfheim Online arc. From there things went downhill. I share the opinion of many that the show would've been better if it was all about trying to get out of the first game, but at least Progressive seems to be doing a good job of doing just that, if only that were made into anime.
Regardless, I've decided to stick with the franchise, no matter how bad it gets.

At least I'll always have those episodes, and who knows, one day it might get better.

I'm probably gonna wait a couple of months, probably nine. I don't like the idea of waiting for a week or even more to watch episodes.

I wanted to review Zenki so I started watching it, hadn't done it since I was a kid and it's ok, I don't remember why I liked it a lot. I wasn't a huge fan but I liked it and it's rather bland. There's definitely some redeeming features but it needs something more to be a bit more memorable.

I also started watching Ranma 1/2 which I last tried to rewatch around 10 years ago but didn't get very far since episodes kept getting removed from youtube but I loved it as a kid and so far I still love it.

Hope to finish Zenki today or tomorrow and then binge watch Ranma 1/2.

I binge-watched The Devil is a Part-Timer! last night. I only got three hours of sleep, but it was worth it! This is such an amazing show, a perfect balance of comedy, action, story and a bit of romance. For me it's very relatable since I too work part-time in a fast good restaurant.
A damn shame they haven't made a second season in the 4 years since the 1st one, and that it didn't really have much of an ending, but nevertheless it's perfect how it is. 10 out of 10.

you could always read the light novels. Amazon will have book 7 next week. (the anime series, if it was 12 episodes, would have ended on vol 3)

I want to read it, but I already have plenty of light novels to read.

I liked the Devil is a Part-Timer too, it was a very easy show to binge watch. I just didn't want to stop.

Yeah, I've been thinking about that, I'll see if I can track 'em down. But what exactly makes these novels "light" anyways? Are they just shorter than what a regular novel is?

Wholeheartedly agree. If only they saw the amount of people who like this little known anime and decided to continue it.
Hopefully that new audio drama thing that came out in Japan spells good fortune for the franchise's future.

If I'm understanding correctly, light novels are about the same length as American novels, the light novel term is just an indicator that it's part of anime/manga culture

nah, more like pages are about 180-230ish, using something like Jurrassic park, a novel can exceed 400 pages.

I was going by Wikipedia which measured by word count. It could very well be wrong, though.

26 episodes.
10 OVAS would make 36.
And 3 movies, and one of em a theater release movie, and I still cant get enough 1980's Dirty Pair. This is a 7 year run total, with the series coming out in 1984-85. The OVAs that ran in 1987-88, the 1986 movie, and of course the non theater moves release in 1985 and 1990.

39 stories is not enough for that amazing 1980's Dirty Pair. Next is Dirty Pair flash series with 16 episodes of there own, but that 1995 reboot was not as amazing as the 1980's run. Crusher Joe movie will hit DVD in April 25th, and the Dirty Pair do appear for a brief time in the move.

I finished Zenki, I'll write a short review later on my website but overall I would't recommend it as it's rather bland. I like some concepts from it like the guardian being evil and needing to be summoned for help, it's like a weird twisted Pokemon for grown ups except it doesn't change. The OVA also pulls off an Evangelion final episode trick by having images not move, oops. I guess they ran out of a budget, the rest of it is actually animated much better than the tv show.

Ranma 1/2 is as awesome as I remember it, I"m like 64 episodes in and don't feel tired of the characters yet. The relationship between each character is so bizarre that the show is a riot and fun to watch, everyone is so selfish in that show, you really can't root for anyone.

This is probably the most anime I've watched in years now that I think about it.

Finished watching the second half of the 1st season Sword Art Online. It was kinda painful to get through.

Also started reading the light novel version of The Devil is a Part-Timer. As the anime did, the books pulled me in with the fascinating story and great characters. I'm already on book 5. They just get better and better.
