1990 Movie to be released with alternate Ending and Deleted Scenes...

... in Germany.
On March 12th the very first TMNT Movie will finally see a official german DVD Release (there were many Bootleg Releases in the Past) and its full of Special Feature the american Audience has never seen or "heard" before:
* Trailer
* Deleted Scenes
* Alternate Ending
* Audiocommentary by director Steve Barron

Its strange that no other Country was offered to include those Special Features on their Release of the Movie!

Here the Labels Site of the DVD: http://www.winklerfilm.de/index.php?...z_filmdaten=30
Here the amazon Link if a collector is interested: http://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B003...pf_rd_i=301128

Heres the german Covershot:

Barron doesn't speak in German does he?

I wonder when the commentary track was recorded. Perhaps there really were/are plans for a US special edition release?

Audiocommentaries to foreign Movies (Non-German) are always englisch with german Subtitles
Well except Disney Movies - they even dub the Commentary Track in Germany

THAT'S AWESOME! So, Australia 1-ups us with the BttS DVDs, now Germany 1-ups us with the original movie bonus content. The TMNT aren't showing much national pride lately...

A mod should really change the title, its misleading for americans. I just metaphorically crapped my pants for utter dissapointment.
Perhaps '1990 film german special edtion' or something...

Yeah i just got really excited then mildly disappointed. That was fast! Who knows maybe they will release that content here sometime (though if you figured they would the 25th anniversary editions would have been a good time)

People complaining about this being Germany-only need to spend some time on Google and learn about region locking. I cannot stress enough how much of a non-factor this should be for everyone.

Survey says they didn't do that for two reasons. 1. They couldn't afford to and 2. Kids would think it's Krang and be pissed off to find out it wasn't. Probably more 2 then 1 but you get the point.

For once, I'll be able to grab this DVD for cheaper than people in the US. But still, I'd rather have an US edition with the extras. I know it'll come with english audio, but the artwork in the DVD and probably the menus will come in german (wich I can't understand at all).

It's been a long time coming, that's for sure. And while I'm hopeful and excited that these features, many of which have only been talked about and seen as mere pictures, be it on trading cards, in comic adaptations, etc., I guess I'm still somewhat more in the "see it to believe it" camp. I guess ideally, if it is in fact released as it's being advertised, then I think that alone, is reason enough to upgrade and expect a WB release, perhaps of the individual film itself, in digibook format, much like "The Matrix," "Batman," or "300." It would certainly warrant a new special edition, given the new features. And while yes, I bought the Blu-Ray set, if they do in fact release it in North America, I shall get it. For it's something I've wanted to see (the alternate/deleted material) and hear (the director's thoughts) for a long time. I await March 12th, if only to see that dream come to fruition.

Well the Menues wouldn't be a Problem!

To Start the Movie just press: "Starte Film" or "Film abspielen" (depending what the DVD Label will use)
For the Language Menue press "Sprache auswählen".
For the Extras press "Extras" or "Bonusmaterial"

Easy

Can't believe that this is finally coming out! It seems just a little weird that it's Germany out of all the countries...I'll be getting this for my birthday! Wicked. I'm pretty sure there will be a US and UK release sometime soon after.

Well, I feel cheated. A few months ago I imported the Blu-ray anniversary box, which would be perfect for the bonus material. But now they give us this.....what a dirty trick!
